Optimizing the Performance of Mobile Communications Systems using a Queue-per-Transceiver Handover Priority Technique

چکیده
This paper analyses an alternative traffic queuing model for mobile communications systems. According to the proposed model, the queue of handover calls is separated to each of the used transceivers of a base transceiver station that covers a particular area. Fixed Channel Assignment and TDMA are considered, while the proposed technique is compared to the classic queuing model. The comparison results show that the performance of the proposed model is optimized under low and normal traffic conditions.

Traffic performance analysis of handover in GMPCS systems
This paper presents an analysis of handover process and its effect on the traffic performance in global mobile personal communications by satellite (GMPCS) systems. With the nongeostationary satellite used for the system, the handover scheme needs to be applied to make calls completed without any interruption. An analytical model is developed for the analysis of the handover process. We derive ...
متن کاملHandover Priority Schemes for Multi-Class Traffic in LEO Mobile Satellite Systems
In this paper, an analytical framework is developed to evaluate the performance of complete sharing (CS) with two different handover priority schemes for multi-class traffic in Low Earth Orbit-Mobile Satellite Systems (LEO-MSS). In the first priority scheme, the handover requests are given the higher priority using queuing scheme with also taking into consideration the priority between classes ...
متن کاملMean Waiting Time in the M/H2/s Queue: Application to Mobile Communications Systems
In this paper a procedure to approximately calculate the mean waiting time in the M/H2/s queue is presented. The approximation is heuristic although based in the intuitive symmetry between the deterministic and balanced hyperexponential-2 distributions. The three parameters which fully describe the H2 distribution are considered, so the approximation can also be used for the M/G/s queue when th...
متن کاملSeamless multicast mobility support using fast MIPv6 extensions
This paper elaborates on seamless handover support for wireless IP multicast networks with the use of a novel mobility management mechanism. The latter enables mobile nodes with active multicast sessions to execute seamless remote subscriptions while changing their network attachment point and is formulated by extending the unicast ‘‘Fast Handovers for Mobile IPv6’’ protocol (FMIPv6). The propo...
متن کاملSelf-Optimization of Handover Parameters for Long-Term Evolution with Dual Wireless Mobile Relay Nodes
In recent years, train passengers have been transferring increasing amounts of data using mobile devices. Wireless networks with mobile relay nodes support broadband wireless communications for passengers of such vehicles using backhaul links. However, the mobility management entity reuses the handover of existing user equipment, resulting in the handover of the Long-Term Evolution network bein...
