چکیده

Diagnostic tasks involve identifying faulty components from observations of symptomatic device behavior. This paper presents a general diagnostic theory that uses the perspective of diagnosis as identifying consistent modes of behavior, correct or faulty. Our theory draws on the intuitions behind recent diagnostic theories to identify faulty components wi thout necessarily knowing how they fai l . To derive additional diagnostic discrimination we use the models for behavioral modes together wi th probabilistic information about the likelihood of each mode of behavior.

Predicting quality of life according to the schema modes in vitiligo patients

Background and Aim: Schema modes include specific schemata and coping styles which are activated in emotional situations. They create formation of behavioral patterns compatible with their own schemata. The purpose of this study was to predict the quality of life in vitiligo patients according to their schema modes. Methods: In this descriptive-correlational study,170 vitiligo patients were ...

Design and Analysis of Diagnostic Systems Utilizing Structural Methods

Today many technical processes are complex and highly integrated. When a process has failed, the complexity of the process makes it hard for humans to troubleshoot it. To facilitate troubleshooting a diagnostic system can supervise and alarm an operator when a fault is detected and also identify one, or several faults, that may have caused the alarm. It is a demanding and time-consuming task to...

Multiple-Fault Diagnosis Using General Qualitative Models with Behavioral Modes

This paper describes an approach to performing diagnosis on complex dynamic systems described by qualitative differential equations. An implemented system QDOCS is described that performs multiple-fault diagnosis on systems modeled with QSIM. Constraint satisfaction techniques are used to determine sets of component modes that are inconsistent with observed qualitative behaviors. Most probable ...

Comprehensive behavioral analysis of patients with a major depressive episode

BACKGROUND A major depressive episode diagnosed according to DSM-IV criteria can be accompanied by symptoms that DSM-IV does not include. These symptoms are sometimes classified as comorbidities. Our study assessed altered behavioral modes during a major depressive episode; ie, if 1 or more modes of behavior operated less or even not at all ("never"), or if the operation of others was more freq...
