Research on Fractional Order PID Controller in Magnetic Levitation Control System

Active magnetic levitation control system is an open-loop, unstable, complex, nonlinear and strong coupling control system, which can not achieve good control effect by using conventional PID controller. Therefore, the fractional order PID controller is used in active magnetic control system. The integer order of conventional PID controller is extended to fractional order range, thus there are more two parameters α and β than conventional PID controller. The performance of controller is basically unchanged when the parameters of the fractional order PID controller change in the small scope, which can be seen that the fractional order PID controller has strong robustness. The simulation results show that the fractional order PIDcontroller has good control effect.
