چکیده

We propose a realization of the electric-field-induced antiferromagnetic resonance. We consider threedimensional antiferromagnetic insulators with spin-orbit coupling characterized by the existence of a topological term called the θ term. By solving the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation in the presence of the θ term, we show that, in contrast to conventional methods using ac magnetic fields, the antiferromagnetic resonance state is realized by ac electric fields along with static magnetic fields. This mechanism can be understood as the inverse process of the dynamical chiral magnetic effect, an alternating current generation by magnetic fields. In other words, we propose a way to electrically induce the dynamical axion field in condensed matter. We discuss a possible experiment to observe our proposal, which utilizes the spin pumping from the antiferromagnetic insulator into a heavy metal contact.

Chiral Magnetic Effect and Anomalous Hall Effect in Antiferromagnetic Insulators with Spin-Orbit Coupling.

We search for dynamical magnetoelectric phenomena in three-dimensional correlated systems with spin-orbit coupling. We focus on the antiferromagnetic insulator phases where the dynamical axion field is realized by the fluctuation of the antiferromagnetic order parameter. It is shown that the dynamical chiral magnetic effect, an alternating current generation by magnetic fields, emerges due to s...

Theory of electric polarization in multiorbital Mott insulators.

The interaction between the electric field E and spins in multiorbital Mott insulators is studied theoretically. We find a generic coupling mechanism, which works for all crystal lattices and which does not involve relativistic effects. It couples E to the "internal" electric field e originating from the dynamical Berry phase. We discuss several effects of this interaction: (i) an unusual elect...

ac current generation in chiral magnetic insulators and Skyrmion motion induced by the spin Seebeck effect.

We show that a temperature gradient induces an ac electric current in multiferroic insulators when the sample is embedded in a circuit. We also show that a thermal gradient can be used to move magnetic Skyrmions in insulating chiral magnets: the induced magnon flow from the hot to the cold region drives the Skyrmions in the opposite direction via a magnonic spin transfer torque. Both results ar...

Anomalous Hall response in two-dimensional topological insulators due to the Stark effect

It is shown that the presence of matrix dipole moments induced by external electric fields can modify the Hall response in two-dimensional topological insulators. In the case of the quantum anomalous Hall effect the induced transverse currents acquire an extra term, being proportional to the Hall conductance and the time derivative of the applied electric field. In the case of the quantum spin ...

In this paper a simple model calculation of spin wave is given for the ferromagtic layer in ultra thin ferromagnetic/antiferromagnetic bilayer. In this model the magnetic layer is assumed as an isolated layer but the effect of antiferromagnetic layer on ferromagnetic layer and unidirectional anisotropy, is given in the effective field applied on each spin. The thin layer is assumed as two-dim...
