چکیده

Ladkin and Maddux [LaMa87] showed how to interpret the calculus of time intervals defined by Allen [AZ2831 in terms of representations of a particular relation algebra, and proved that this algebra has a unique countable representation up to isomorphism. In this paper, we . consider the algebra An of n-intervals, which coincides with Allen’s algebra for n=2, and prove that An has a unique countable representation up to isomorphism for all n2 1. We get this result, which implies that the first order theory of An is decidable, by introducing the notion of a weak representation of an interval algebra, and by giving a full classification of the connected weak representations of A n. We also show how the topological properties of the set of atoms of An can be represented by a n-dimensional polytope.

Globally analytic $p$-adic representations of the pro--$p$--Iwahori subgroup of $GL(2)$ and base change‎, ‎I‎ : ‎Iwasawa algebras and a base change map

This paper extends to the pro-$p$ Iwahori subgroup of $GL(2)$ over an unramified finite extension of $mathbb{Q}_p$ the presentation of the Iwasawa algebra obtained earlier by the author for the congruence subgroup of level one of $SL(2‎, ‎mathbb{Z}_p)$‎. ‎It then describes a natural base change map between the Iwasawa algebras or more correctly‎, ‎as it turns out‎, ‎between the global distribut...

Universal Central Extension of Current Superalgebras

Representation as well as central extension are two of the most important concepts in the theory of Lie (super)algebras. Apart from the interest of mathematicians, the attention of physicist are also drawn to these two subjects because of the significant amount of their applications in Physics. In fact for physicists, the study of projective representations of Lie (super)algebras  are very impo...

CLUSTER ALGEBRAS AND CLUSTER CATEGORIES

These are notes from introductory survey lectures given at the Institute for Studies in Theoretical Physics and Mathematics (IPM), Teheran, in 2008 and 2010. We present the definition and the fundamental properties of Fomin-Zelevinsky’s cluster algebras. Then, we introduce quiver representations and show how they can be used to construct cluster variables, which are the canonical generator...

Derivations on dual triangular Banach algebras

Ideal Connes-amenability of dual Banach algebras was investigated in [17] by A. Minapoor, A. Bodaghi and D. Ebrahimi Bagha. They studied weak∗continuous derivations from dual Banach algebras into their weak∗-closed two- sided ideals. This work considers weak∗-continuous derivations of dual triangular Banach algebras into their weak∗-closed two- sided ideals . We investigate when weak∗continuous...

Algebraic foundations for qualitative calculi and networks

Binary Constraint Problems have traditionally been considered as Network Satisfaction Problems over some relation algebra. A constraint network is satisfiable if its nodes can be mapped into some representation of the relation algebra in such a way that the constraints are preserved. A qualitative representation φ is like an ordinary representation, but instead of requiring (a ; b) = a | b, as ...
