Selective and Efficient Solvent Extraction of Copper(II) Ions from Chloride Solutions by Oxime Extractants

Oxime extractants 3-tert-butyl-2-hydroxy-5-methyl benzaldehyde oxime (HL1) and 3-tert-butyl-2-hydroxy-5-methoxy benzaldehyde oxime (HL2) were synthesized and characterized by conventional spectroscopic methods. Suitable lipophilic nature of the prepared extractants allowed examining the ability of these molecules for extr...

A Green and Efficient Method for the Preconcentration and Determination of Gallic Acid, Bergenin, Quercitrin, and Embelin from Ardisia japonica Using Nononic Surfactant Genapol X-080 as the Extraction Solvent

A simple cloud point preconcentration method was developed and validated for the determination of gallic acid, bergenin, quercitrin, and embelin in Ardisia japonica by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) using ultrasonic assisted micellar extraction. Nonionic surfactant Genapol X-080 was selected as the extraction solvent. The effects of various experimental conditions such as the typ...

Pebax-Modified Cellulose Acetate Membrane for CO2/N2 Separation

Carbon dioxide (CO2) release from the exhaust gas streams of power plants that burn fossil fuels contributes the most emission of this gas, which includes more than half of the greenhouse effects. Thus, the separation of CO2 from exhaust gases is one of the main environmental concerns. Membrane technology, due to many advantages, has attracted many research attentions among the various gas sepa...

Degradation of Organic Pollutant in Waste Water via CdMoO4 Nanostructures as an Effective Photocatalyst; Ultrasound-assisted Preparation and Characterization

Sphere-like cadmium molybdate (CdMoO4) nanostructures have been synthesized by a large scale and simple sonochemical method by using Cd(Sal)2 (Sal=salicylidene) and Na2MoO4.2H2O for the first time. The effects of sonochemical irradiation time, sonochemical power, temperature, solvent, surfactant and cadmium source were considered to obtain a controlled shape. The as-prepared nanostructured cadm...
