Measuring Motility Retention by Tpallidum

چکیده
Transferrin and, to a lesser extent, insulin were two components of serum that enhanced the survival of Treponema pallidum in microaerophilic, acellular medium. These two components also enhanced the attachment of Tpallidum to baby rabbit genital organ (BRGO) cells in both aerobic and microaerophilic tissue culture systems. Growth hormone and epidermal growth factor marginally enhanced the attachment of Tpallidum to BRGO cells.

INTESTINAL MOTILITY Impaired reflex control of intestinal gas transit in patients with abdominal bloating
Background: Patients with abdominal bloating and distension exhibit impaired transit of intestinal gas which may lead to excessive gas retention and symptoms. Furthermore, we have previously shown that intestinal gas transit is normally accelerated by rectal distension. We hypothesise that in patients with functional bloating this modulatory mechanism fails and impairs gas transit. Methods: In ...
متن کاملRetention of motility of Treponema pallidum (Nichols virulent strain) in an anaerobic cell culture system and in a cell-free system.
Optimum parameters for retention of motility of Treponema pallidum (Nichols virulent strain) were found by anaerobic co-incubation of the treponeme with rat glial cells and anaerobic incubation in spent medium obtained from glial cells originally grown aerobically.
متن کاملRetention during capsule endoscopy: Is it a real problem in routine practice?
OBJECTIVE This study evaluated the risks and outcomes of capsule retention during capsule endoscopy (CE) for investigating small bowel disease. Capsule retention is the most serious complication of CE. METHODS Before CE, the gastrointestinal tract was evaluated for blockages with computerized tomography. Analysis of CE was made retrospectively. RESULTS Capsule endoscopy was used to investig...
متن کاملPolymorphonuclear motility: measurement by computer-linked image analysis.
Most methods of measuring neutrophil motility provide information mainly about the performance of a small proportion of the fastest moving cells. Application of a computer-linked image analysis technique, using the "Quantimet," provides a convenient, automated method of measuring the motility of the whole cell population. This makes it possible to test whether changes in motility represent a ho...
متن کاملAuraptene consolidates memory, reverses scopolamine-disrupted memory in passive avoidance task, and ameliorates retention deficits in mice
Objective(s): Auraptene (7-geranyloxycoumarin) (AUR), from Citrus species has shown anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, and acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and beta-secretase inhibitory effects. Scopolamine is a nonselective muscarinic receptor antagonist which causes short-term memory impairments and is used for inducing animal model of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). This research aimed to investigate ...
