چکیده

In this paper, we present a code-division multiple access (CDMA) system with a spreading factor of N that can accommodate up to mN users, where m 2. The m sets of orthogonal spreading sequences are constructed by overlaying the same N orthogonal Walsh-Hadamard sequences with a set-specific pseudonoise (PN) sequence. Interference between user signals from different sets is cancelled by means of soft-decision iterative interference cancellation. We show that this technique, which is referred to as m-OCDMA, can accommodate more users and is computationally less complex than conventional PN-CDMA with the same type of interference cancellation. Assuming BPSK transmission over an additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel and perfect power control, a degradation of 0.4 dB at the BER of 10 in m-OCDMA is obtained with 2.56N users in the uplink or 3.03N users in the downlink. In PN-CDMA, this figure is 2.16N for both the uplink and the downlink.

Asynchronous multicarrier DS-CDMA using mutually orthogonal complementary sets of sequences

The use of sets of multiple spreading sequences per user in multicarrier code-division multiple-access (CDMA) is investigated. Each user is assumed to have a distinct set of spreading sequences, with a different spreading sequence for each carrier in each user’s set. We show that when these sets of sequences are chosen to be the mutually orthogonal (MO) complementary sets of sequences, multiple...

Performance Improvement Technique for Multiple User Detection in DS-CDMA System using Groupwise Successive Interference Cancellation (GSIC)

Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) system is being most popular communication technique due to its robustness & spread spectrum techniques. Downlink CDMA Systems with Space - Time Codes and Interference Cancellation 1

| Space-time coding and interference cancellation based on orthogonal projection are powerful techniques to improve the communication quality and capacity in downlink CDMA systems. Space-time encoder output stream is transmitted through fading channel using multiple transmitter antennas, increasing communication reliability against multipath fading. On the other hand, orthogonal projection-base...

Performance of an Indoor Optical Wireless PPM-CDMA System with Interference Cancellation schemes

A new puke position modulation code division multiple access (PPM-CDMA) system is proposed for an indoor optical wireless channeL As a signature sequence for CDMA an optical orthogonal code (OOC) is used To reduce multiple access interference, two interference cancellation schemes are employed: decorrelating detection and successive interference cancellation (SIC). The bit error rate of the pro...

Iterative Successive Interference Cancellation for Quasi-Synchronous Block Spread CDMA Based on the Orders of the Times of Arrival

Recently, a block spreading code division multiple access (BS-CDMA) technique was presented, whereby user-specific precoding along with orthogonal spreading codes is used to achieve multiuser interference(MUI-) free reception when all users arrive at the base station simultaneously. In practice, however, imperfect synchronization destroys the orthogonality among users, and MUI occurs. To mitiga...
