چکیده

P APER STRIP and paper curtain electrophoretic technics have been widely used to separate or identify clotting factors.19 Recently, starch gel electrophoresis has also been employed.9’10 We report herein the results of starch block electrophoresis using starch thoroughly washed with ethylenediaminetetraacetate ( EDTA). We have characterized the migration pattern of the following plasma clotting factors : Hageman factor ( XII ), plasma thromboplastin antecedent (PTA, XI), proconvertin ( VII ), prothrombin ( II ), plasma thromboplastin component ( PTC, Christmas factor, IX ) , and Stuart factor ( X ) . These factors were re-

The Identification and Synthesis of Activated Plasma Thromboplastin Component (ptc').

S THE NUMBER of known intrinsic clotting factors has increased, it has become clear that the final reaction, the conversion of fibrinogen to fibrin by thrombin, must result from a series of preliminary reactions, each probably involving only two clotting factors. This means that each clotting factor must circulate either as a precursor or as a highly specific molecule which only reacts with ano...

Albumin activation of NAD(P)H oxidase activity is mediated via Rac1 in proximal tubule cells.

BACKGROUND Rac1 is a Rho-family small GTP-ase, when activated is pivotal in NAD(P)H oxidase (NOX) activation and generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Evidence links Rac1 activation to receptor-mediated albumin endocytosis in the proximal tubule cell (PTC). Thus in states of albumin overload, Rac1 activation could lead to NOX activation and ROS formation in the PTC. Furthermore, accumula...

Kinetic study of cis-polybutadiene epoxidation by using 1HNMR spectroscopy in buffered oxone® solution with tetra-n-butyl ammonium bromide as phase transfer catalyst (PTC)

Cis-polybutadiene was functionalized using in–situ generated DMD as oxidant and tetra-n-butyl ammonium bromide as phase transfer catalyst (PTC). The epoxidation process was investigated by 1HNMR spectroscopy. 1HNMR spectrum analysis of products confirms the absence of ring opening side products in epoxidation reaction. Various factors such as reaction temperature, reaction time and the concentr...

Activation Product, Factor Ix, Serum Thrombotic Accelerator Activity, and Serum-induced Thrombosis.

Glass-contacted human serum infused into animals induces stasis thrombi similar to red thrombi observed in man (1). The activity in glass-contacted human serum initiating these thrombi has been termed serum thrombotic accelerator (STA) activity (2). It can be measured by a rabbit assay (3) and is distinct from tissue thromboplastin, platelets, and thrombin (4, 5). Silicone-processed ("intact") ...

TSH Signaling Overcomes B-RafV600E–Induced Senescence in Papillary Thyroid Carcinogenesis through Regulation of DUSP612

B-RafV600E oncogene mutation occurs most commonly in papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) and is associated with tumor initiation. However, a genetic modification by B-RafV600E in thyrocytes results in oncogene-induced senescence (OIS). In the present study, we explored the factors involved in the senescence overcome program in PTC. First of all, we observed down-regulation of p-extracellular sign...
