Gravitational coupling to two-particle bound states and momentum conservation in deep inelastic scattering

چکیده
The momentum conservation sum rule for deep inelastic scattering (DIS) from composite particles is investigated using the general theory of relativity. For two 1+1 dimensional examples, it shown that covariant theories automatically satisy the DIS momentum conservation sum rule provided the bound state is covariantilly normalized. Therefore, in these cases the two DIS sum rules for baryon conservation and momentum conservation are equivalent. Typeset using REVTEX

On the Effect of Binding in Deep Inelastic Scattering
The phenomenon of scaling in deep inelastic lepton-nucleon scattering is usually explained in terms of the Feynman parton model, and the logarithmic corrections to scaling are explained in the framework of perturbative QCD. For testing the validity of the parton model, we consider the deep inelastic electron scattering in a model in which the system electromagnetic current operator explicitly s...
متن کاملMassive Lepton Pair Production in Hadron - Hadron Collisions at High Energies
On the basis of a parton model studied earlier we consider the production process of large mass lepton pairs from hadron-hadron inelastic collisions in the limiting region, s --coo, Q 2 /s finite, Q2 and s being the squared invariant masses of the lepton pair and the two initial hadrons, respectively. General scaling properties and connections with deep inelastic electron scattering are discuss...

Charged particle production has been studied in deep inelastic scattering (DIS) using an integrated luminosity of about 0.44 fb−1 taken with the ZEUS detector at HERA. The fragmentation properties of the struck quark in deep inelastic scattering have been investigated in the current fragmentation region of the Breit frame as a function of the exchanged boson virtuality Q. The measured evolution...
متن کاملPITHA Juni Measurement of the strong coupling constant s from jet rates in deep inelastic scattering
Based on R Q the rate of jet events as de ned by a modi ed JADE algorithm the strong coupling constant s is measured as a function of the momentum transfer Q in the range Q GeV using data from deep inelastic electron proton scattering at the HERA collider The result is consistent with the running of s according to the QCD prediction of the renormalization group equation The extrapolation of the...
متن کاملForward π◦-Meson and Charged Particle Production in Deep Inelastic Scattering at low Bjorken-x
High transverse momentum π-mesons and charged particles are measured in deep inelastic e-p scattering events at low Bjorken-x taken with the H1 detector at HERA. The production of high pt particles is strongly correlated to the emission of hard partons in QCD and is therefore sensitive to the dynamics of the strong interaction. For the first time the measurement of single particles has been ext...
