Advances in Single-Chain Nanoparticles for Catalysis

چکیده
Enzymes are the most efficient catalysts known working in an aqueous environment near 12 room temperature. The folding of individual polymer chains to functional single-chain nanoparticles 13 (SCNPs) offers many opportunities for the development of artificial enzyme-mimic catalysts 14 showing both high catalytic activity and specificity. In this review, we highlight recent results 15 obtained in the use of SCNPs as bioinspired, highly-efficient nanoreactors (3–30 nm) for the 16 synthesis of a variety of nanomaterials (inorganic nanoparticles, quantum dots, carbon nanodots), 17 polymers and chemical compounds, as well as nanocontainers for CO2 capture and release. 18

The recent ability to manipulate and visualize single atoms at atomic level has given rise to modern bottom-up nanotechnology. Similar exquisite degree of control at the individual polymeric chain level for producing functional soft nanoentities is expected to become a reality in the next few years through the full development of so-called "single chain technology". Ultra-small unimolecular sof...

During thelast20-30 years, palladium-catalyzed reactions have witnessed tremendous advances in the industrial and organic reactions such as hydrogenation, coupling, cyanation and amination. Despite the wide utility of Pd-catalysts in these reactions, they suffer from a number of drawbacks such as recovery, reuse of catalyst and remain as a contaminant in the products at the end of the reaction...
