Simple Spectrophotometric Estimation of Nevirapine in Bulk Drug and Tablet Formulation

A simple, accurate and economic UV spectrophotometric method has been developed for the estimation of Nevirapine in bulk and tablet formulation. Nevirapine has maximum absorbance at 284 nm in Dimethyl formamide. Beer’s law is obeyed in the concentration range of 5-25 mcg/ml with correlation coefficient 0.9998. The developed method was applied for the estimation of Nevirapine in bulk and tablet formulation and gave satisfactory results. The proposed method was validated statistically as per ICH guidelines and the low value of %RSD indicates high precision of the method. © 2011 tjponline. All rights reserved.
