چکیده

We use the public release of ≃ 100, 000 galaxies of the Two Degree Field Galaxy Redshift Survey (2dFGRS) to analyze the internal dynamics of galaxy clusters. We select 43 non-interacting clusters which are adequately sampled in the 2dFGRS public release. Members of these clusters are selected out to ∼ 2 virial radii. We build an ensemble cluster by stacking together the 43 clusters, after appropriate scaling of their galaxy velocities and clustercentric distances. We solve the Jeans equation for the hydrostatic equilibrium for the member galaxies within the virial radius of the ensemble cluster, assuming isotropic orbits. We constrain the cluster mass profile within the virial radius by exploring parameterized models for the cluster mass-density profile. We find that both cuspy profiles and profiles with a core are acceptable. In particular, the concentration parameter of the best fit NFW model is as predicted from numerical simulations in a ΛCDM cosmology. Density profiles with very large core-radii are ruled out. Beyond the virial radius, dynamical equilibrium cannot be taken for granted, and the Jeans equation may not be applicable. In order to extend our dynamical analysis out to ∼ 2 virial radii, we rely upon the method which uses the amplitude of caustics in the space of galaxy clustercentric distances and velocities. We find very good agreement between the mass profile determined with the caustic method and the extrapolation to ∼ 2 virial radii of the best-fit mass profile determined by the Jeans analysis in the virialized inner region. We determine the mass-to-number density profile, and find it is fully consistent with a constant within the virial radius. The mass-to-number density profile is however inconsistent with a constant when the full radial range from 0 to ∼ 2 virial radii is considered, unless the sample used to determine the number density profile is restricted to the early-type galaxies. Scaling relations in dynamical evolution of star clusters

We have carried out a series of small scale collisional N-body calculations of single-mass star clusters to investigate the dependence of the lifetime of star clusters on their initial parameters. Our models move through an external galaxy potential with a logarithmic density profile and they are limited by a cut-off radius. In order to find scaling relations between the lifetime of star cluste...

baryonic matter distribution in the large-scale structures is one of the main questions in cosmology. This distribution can provide valuable information regarding  the processes of galaxy formation and evolution. On the other hand, the missing baryon problem is still under debate. One of the most important cosmological structures for studying the rate and  the distribution of the baryons is gal...

جستجو در تصاویر عمیق GaBoDs برای یافتن خوشه‌های کهکشانی به روش همگرایی ضعیف گرانشی

The aim of the present work is detection of galaxy clusters based on weak gravitational lensing method. We apply mass aperture statistics method to 0.32 square degrees data obtained with the WFI@MPG/ESO 2.2 m telescope and detect mass peaks based on their mass not the luminosity. So by the application of proper filter function, shear profile and mass map are produced. Finally mass peaks with hi...

K-band Properties of Galaxy Clusters and Groups: Luminosity Function, Radial Distribution and Halo Occupation Number

We explore the near-infrared (NIR) K-band properties of galaxies within 93 galaxy clusters and groups using data from the Two Micron All Sky Survey (2MASS). We use X-ray properties of these clusters to pinpoint cluster centers and estimate cluster masses. By stacking all these systems, we study the shape of the cluster luminosity function and the galaxy distribution within the clusters. We find...

The orbital velocity anisotropy of cluster galaxies: evolution

Context. In nearby clusters early-type galaxies follow isotropic orbits. The orbits of late-type galaxies are instead characterized by slightly radial anisotropy. Little is known about the orbits of the different populations of cluster galaxies at redshift z > 0.3. Aims. We investigate the redshift evolution of the orbits of cluster galaxies. Methods. We use two samples of galaxy clusters spann...
