T h e a im at the go l f sod nu r se ry is to g r o w a thin l aye r of turf , s t r ong l y knit together , fi l led w i t h a m a x i m u m of v igo rous roots and short b r a n c h i n g over g r o u n d stems, a m i n i m u m of soil a n d a texture to match the soil in the a r e a to be repa i red or replaced. W e mus t be ab le to cut this sod to exact length, w id th and thickness. It mus t be ab l e to stand l i f t ing , t r anspo r t a tion, and l ay ing w i t h no c h a n g e in size or shape, and w i t h o u t b r e a k a g e . It wi l l s tand m o v i n g w i thout the least check in g r o w t h w h e n p rope r l y handled.
