چکیده

This paper deals with an efficient and fast approach for determining the mutual inductance between thin current loops (filamentary coils, thin cylindrical coils, thin disk coils and all possible combinations). This approach is based on the filament method where conductors are approximated by a set of Maxwell’s coils. The resulting equations are expressed in term of the complete elliptical integrals of the first and second kind and permit fast calculation of the mutual inductance for systems of interests. These new formulas are accurate and simple for a wide range of applications. Computational cost and accuracy of this technique will be also discussed. Key-Words: Computational electromagnetics, mutual inductance, filament circular coils, disk coils, thin wall solenoids.

Mutual Inductance Between Coaxial Circular Coils of Rectangular Cross Section and Thin Coaxial Circular Coils with Constant Current Density in Air (Filament Method)

This paper deals with an efficient and fast approach for determining the mutual inductance between coaxial circular coils of rectangular cross section in combination with thin coaxial circular coils as the thin wall solenoid, the thin disk coil and the filamentary coil. This approach is based on the filament method where conductors are approximated by the set of Maxwell’s coils. The obtained ex...

Mutual Inductance Calculation between Misalignment Coils for Wireless Power Transfer of Energy

In this paper we present a detailed theoretical analysis of lateral and angular misalignment effects in RF coils. Radio-frequency (RF) coils are used extensively in the design of implantable devices for transdermal power and data transmission. A design procedure is established to maximize coil coupling for a given configuration to reduce the effects of misalignment on transmission efficiency. F...

Mutual Inductance for an Explicitly Finite Number of Turns

Non coaxial mutual inductance calculations, based on a Bessel function formulation, are presented for coils modelled by an explicitly finite number of circular turns. The mutual inductance of two such turns can be expressed as an integral of a product of three Bessel functions and an exponential factor, and it is shown that the exponential factors can be analytically summed as a simple geometri...

Mutual Inductance and Force Exerted between Thick Coils

Abstract—We present exact three-dimensional semi-analytical expressions of the force exerted between two coaxial thick coils with rectangular cross-sections. Then, we present a semi-analytical formulation of their mutual inductance. For this purpose, we have to calculate six and seven integrations for calculating the force and the mutual inductance respectively. After mathematical manipulations...

Implementation of Identical Spiral Square Inductive Coils for Wireless EV Battery Charging Application

In recent years, the popularity of wireless inductive power transfer (WIPT) system for electric vehicle battery charging (EVBC) is always ever-increasing. In the WIPT inductively coupled coil structure is the heart of the system and the mutual inductance (MI) between the coupled coils is the key factor for effective power transfer. This paper presents the analysis of mutual inductance between t...
