Comparison of Partial Discharge Behavior with Alternating Current and Damped Alternating Current at Different Frequencies

چکیده
This article presents investigations of partial discharges (PD) in a high voltage cable system using different voltage shapes and frequencies. The two voltage sources which were used for energizing the cable system, are 50 Hz alternating current (AC) generated by a high voltage transformer and damped alternating current (DAC). Both systems can be used for PD detection with use of a standard PD measurement circuit consisting of coupling capacitor and coupling device with digital signal processing. With the help of an artificial PD source, the PD level is compared for AC and DAC and also the phase relation of PD for both methods is shown. Moreover comparison of partial discharge inception voltage (PDIV) for both energizing methods is described and measurements are shown. The measurements with the DAC source were performed at three different frequencies. Changing the resonant frequency is handled by adding capacitors in parallel to the cable system to increase the overall capacitance. Keywords—partial discharge, high voltage cable, PD detection, damped AC, artificial PD, PD measurement

متن کاملThick Film Deposition of Carbon Nanotubes by Alternating Electrophoresis
Electrophoretic deposition of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) using alternating current electric fields (0.01-1000 Hz) is reported. Pure acetone was used as suspending medium. Two parallel gold electrodes were used as depositing substrate. The effect of depositing parameters such as frequency and three waveforms (sinusoidal, rectangular and triangular) on deposit yield was investigated. According to ou...
متن کاملEffect of Transcranial Alternating Current Stimulation on Anxiety and Hemodynamic Response in Patients Undergoing Surgery: A Double-Blind Controlled Clinical Trial
Background: Pre-op anxiety has adverse effects on the patientchr('39')s anesthesia and treatment. Currently, electrical interventions are widely used as non-invasive methods to control pre-op anxiety and may have advantages as compared with medical therapies. This study aimed to determine the effect of transcranial alternating current stimulation on anxiety and hemodynamic response of patients ...

Introduction Abnormal neural impulses in the nervous system may lead to various diseases and disabilities. High frequency alternating currents (HFAC) has been used to block the propagation of such impulses and improve the symptoms or disabilities. The technique is safe, reversible, and relatively selective, and its reliability, the optimum stimulation parameters, and elimination of the onset re...

The current study aims at exploring the role of causativization as one of the causes stated in the literature for overpassivization of English unaccusatives in an Iranian context. The study was conducted using three data collection procedures, an Oxford Placement Test, a Grammaticality Judgment Task, and a Production Task. The results revealed that causativization errors with non-alternating una...
