The feasibility of 350 micron spatial resolution coronary MRA at 3T in humans

چکیده
Methods A 3T coronary MRA technique optimized for an image acquisition voxel as small as 0.35 x 0.35 x 1.5mm3 (HRC) was implemented and the coronary arteries of twenty two subjects were imaged. These included 11 healthy subjects (average age 28.5 years old, five males) and 11 subjects (average age 52.9 years old, five females) with CAD as identified on multidetector coronary computed tomography (MDCT). Additionally, the 11 healthy subjects were imaged using a method with a more common spatial resolution of 0.7×1×3 mm3 (RRC). Qualitative and quantitative comparisons were made between the two MRA techniques.

The clinical utility of contrast enhanced whole-heart coronary MRA with 32-channel coil at 3T scanner in the era of 64 and more-slice CT
Background Sixty-four and more-slice cardiac CT provides rapid and high quality coronary CT angiography for the majority of clinical needs of non-invasive evaluation of coronary artery. However, the recent advance of whole-heart coronary MRA has been able to provide high-quality of coronary MRA and also myocardial image in a reasonable scan time. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the cl...
متن کاملMRI of the Coronary Arteries
The critical issue for coronary MRA is to account for multiple sources of motion while maintaining a high spatial resolution and high temporal resolution acquisition. Under optimal circumstances, the spatial resolution of coronary MRA is 700-900 microns for in plane resolution, but slice thickness z-axis) remains at 2-3 mm. This is considerably greater than the 300 micron resolution available f...
متن کاملTarget volume coronary MRA revisited: usefulness of non-rigid reregistration of multi-frame 3D MRA acquisitions at 3T
Background Free-breathing whole-heart coronary MR angiography (MRA) is an established method that can visualize all coronary arteries within a single acquisition. However, a long acquisition time and suboptimal arterial signal due to thick SLAB are major limitations of 3T gradient-echo whole-heart coronary MRA without contrast. Alternatively, target-volume coronary MRA can be used to visualize ...
متن کاملContrast-enhanced MR angiography at 3T in the evaluation of intracranial aneurysms: a comparison with time-of-flight MR angiography.
The combination of 3T and parallel-acquisition techniques holds promise for improved performance of contrast-enhanced MR angiography (MRA), in terms of speed, spatial resolution, and coverage. We present a comparison of 2 MRA techniques, including time-of-flight (TOF) and contrast-enhanced MRA, for detection and evaluation of intracranial aneurysms. Our results show that contrast-enhanced MRA w...

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE A method is presented for high-temporal-resolution MR angiography (MRA) using a combination of undersampling strategies and a high-field (3T) scanner. Currently, the evaluation of cerebrovascular disorders involving arteriovenous shunting or retrograde flow is accomplished with conventional radiographic digital subtraction angiography, because of its high spatial and temp...
