The enzymatic synthesis of N-acetyl-L-aspartic acid by a water-insoluble preparation of a cat brain acetone powder.
نویسنده
چکیده
An acetone powder of cat brain catalyzed the synthesis of two radioactive products when incubated with L-aspartate-14C and acetyl coenzyme A. The products were identified as Nacetyl-aspartic acid and citric acid. A water extract of the powder contained the system that produced citrate-14C, while the residue contained the aspartate N-acetyltransferase activity. The soluble system rather than the residue exhibited characteristics previously reported for a soluble aspartate Nacetyltransferase preparation of rat brain; hence, it is suggested that previous investigators were not measuring true L-aspartate N-acetyltransferase activity.

Synthesis of CuO nanorods via thermal decomposition of copper-dipicolinic acid complex
Template-free CuO nanorods were synthesized through a three-step chemical method with no water-insoluble materials. The first step included the preparation of a Cu-complex, which was obtained from dipicolinic acid, L-lysine, and copper nitrate. Then, as the second step, the obtained solution was allowed to be relaxed for a week to and formation of some blue single-crystals single crystals, whic...

A preceding paper described the characteristics of the isolated enzyme system, prepared from ox liver acetone powder, which catalyzes the conversion of citrulline and aspartic acid to arginine and malic acid. It was shown that the fundamental requirements for arginine synthesis from citrulline are aspartic acid, Mg++, and adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the latter as a reactant in substrate conce...
متن کاملSynthesis and Functionalization of Gold Nanoparticles by Using of Poly Functional Amino Acids
Synthesis and characterization of two functionalized gold nanoparticles by using of two poly functional amino acids (L-Arginine and L-Aspartic acid) are reported. The gold nanoparticles were reduced by sodium citrate and functionalized with L-Arginine at the pH of 7 and 11 and L-Aspartic acid at the pH of 7. Transmission electron microscopy, UV-Vis spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering, zeta p...
متن کاملBenzoyl coenzyme A and hippurate synthesis.
The synthesis of p-aminohippurate’ by the insoluble particles of rat liver and kidney homogenates occurs at the expense of phosphate bond energy. Cohen and McGilvery (1) have shown that the necessary energy is provided in an aerobic system by the oxidative reactions of the tricarboxylic acid cycle and in an anaerobic system by ATP. Studies by Kielley and Schneider (2) indicate that the enzymes ...
متن کاملPrinted in U . S . A . Biosynthesis of N - Acetyl - L - aspartic Acid
The occurrence of N-acetyl+aspartic acid in mammalian and avian brain at concentrations from 80 to 120 mg per 100 g fresh weight of tissue was demonstrated recently by Tallan et al. (1). The pattern of distribution of acetylaspartic acid in bovine brain was found by Tallan (2) to parallel that of many enzymes and to correlate equally with both the distribution of respiratory activity and the de...
