چکیده

The syntax and semantics of actors and-agents is rst deened separately, using a uniform, \unbiased" approach. New coordination primitives are the added to the union of the two calculi which allow actors and-agents to cooperate. The syntax and semantics of actors and-agents are rst deened separately, using a uniform, \unbiased" approach. Since we aim at modeling concurrent distributed systems, and thus we are interested in asynchronous behavior, we choose for comparison with actors an asynchronous version of the-calculus. In the paper, the behavior of both actors and-agents is deened by certain logic sequents called tiles. A tile is a rewrite rule which describes a possible evolution of a part s of the system which is matched by it. In addition, a tile also describes the evolution of the interfaces of s with the rest of the system. Thus two parts s and s 0 sharing an interface can be rewritten only by tiles which agree on the evolution of the common interface. This restriction

Identity Representation Strategies used by English and EL2 Political Actors and Researchers

Previous literature on the study of identity representation in political discourse has been mainly concerned with the spoken discourse and the representation of self. However, the way different groups of political agents represent others’ identities across languages has not attracted much attention. Using Wodak’s (2007) Discourse Historical approach to CDA, the present study investigates the wa...

The Interactive CrossTalk Installation: Meta-Theater with Animated Presentation Agents

This paper introduces CrossTalk, an interactive installation with animated presentation agents. CrossTalk is an attempt to spatially extend the interaction experience beyond the usual single front screen. It offers two separated agent spaces (screens), where the agents “live”, which form a triangle with the user’s control panel. In this setting, we explore the meta-theatre metaphor for a new va...

Intelligent Agents Acting as Artificial Employees in an Electronic Market

This paper describes an agent-based electronic market system whose underlying communication and cooperation protocols establish an artificial environment with advanced features. Using the system, actors (i.e., customers and merchants) can delegate a variety of tasks to personal software agents that act as their artificial employees. Contrary to other approaches, where a new agent is launched wh...

Performatology: A Procedural Acting Approach for Interactive Drama in Cinematic Games

In this paper we define Performatology as a data driven, machine learning, and performance theory based approach to interactive drama through the procedural acting of Performative Embodied Agents (PEAs). PEAs are designed to serve as acting tools for live embodied performers to extend their craft into computational media, and to make agents better actors for the enhancement of cinematic games. ...
