چکیده

T ramadol hydrochloride is a centrally acting synthetic analgesic with a dual mechanism of action. Tramadol and its Odesmethyl metabolite (M1) bind to opioid receptors, with M1 having a 200-fold higher affinity for binding to these receptors. Tramadol has also been shown to inhibit the uptake of norepinephrine and serotonin, suggesting that its antinociceptive activity is mediated by both opioid and nonopioid mechanisms. In patients with diabetic neuropathy, therapy with oral tramadol resulted in low pain scores and high painrelief scores. Tramadol produced effective analgesia with minimal adverse effects in cancer patients with chronic pain. Tramadol is also a useful alternative in patient-controlled epidural analgesia when patients cannot receive combined spinal– epidural analgesia for labor pains. There are some clinical situations in which tramadol must be combined with other drugs, such as for patients with postoperative pain who require NORAH O. ABANMY, M.SC., is Lecturer; IMAN Y. Stability of tramadol with three 5-HT3 receptor antagonists in polyolefin bags for patient-controlled delivery systems

BACKGROUND Mixing 5-hydroxytryptamine-3 (5-HT3) receptor antagonists with patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) solutions of tramadol has been shown to decrease the incidence of nausea and vomiting associated with the use of tramadol PCA for postoperative pain. However, such mixtures are not commercially available, and the stability of the drug combinations has not been duly studied. The study aim...

Preparation, statistical optimization and in vitro characterization of solid lipid nanoparticles as a potential vehicle for transdermal delivery of tramadol hydrochloride as a hydrophilic Compound

As encapsulation of hydrophilic drugs in the solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNs) is still a challenging issue, the aim of this study was to prepare SLNs containing tramadol hydrochloride as a hydrophilic compound. The SLNs were prepared using glycerol monostearate (GMS), soy lecithin and tween 80 by double emulsification-solvent evaporation technique. The nanoparticles were optimized through a cent...

Comparative Study Of Tramadol Hydrochloride And Drotavarine Hydrochloride On Cervical Dilatation In Active Labour

Purpose: Prolong labour contributes to increased perinatal and maternal morbidity. Inhibitory impulses in the form of spasm often impair the dilatation of cervix and prolong the duration of labour. This study was undertaken to compare the effect of Tramadol Hydrochloride And Drotavarine Hydrochloride on duration of labour and rate of cervical dilatation and compare it with control group. Method...

Compatibility and Stability of Nab-Paclitaxel in Combination with Other Drugs.

Albumin-bound paclitaxel (Abraxane®, nab-paclitaxel) is not recommended to be administered concurrently or sequentially with other drugs due to concern for instability. The need to administer drugs separately increases infusion time. We evaluated the compatibility and stability of solutions containing nab-paclitaxel and other drugs, including gemcitabine hydrochloride, carboplatin, dexamethason...
