Ectopic extraspinal meningioma: CT and MR appearance.

چکیده
We report a case of an ectopic, extraspinal meningioma that appeared as a midline interscapular mass in a 13-year-old girl. The tumor involved the T-2 and T-3 spinous processes, but was dorsal to the lamina and was entirely extrinsic to the spinal canal. Large amounts of tumoral calcification and reactive hyperostosis were present, radiologically mimicking an osteogenic sarcoma.

Radiation-induced meningioma evaluated with positron emission tomography with fludeoxyglucose F 18.
We describe a patient with radiation-induced meningioma 12 years after cranial irradiation for ectopic germinoma. PET scans with fludeoxyglucose F 18 showed a high glucose metabolic rate in the meningioma despite a benign histologic appearance.
متن کاملPrimary intraosseous meningioma: CT and MRI appearance.
Benign primary intraosseous meningioma presenting with osteolytic skull lesion and soft-tissue component is rare. CT and MR imaging of a patient with frontoparietal scalp swelling showed an osteolytic intracalvarial lesion with an extradural soft-tissue component. Following wide surgical resection, the histological examination revealed an intraosseous chordoid meningioma. The clinical and radio...
متن کاملIntraventricular meningiomas: MR imaging and MR spectroscopic findings in two cases.
CT, MR imaging, MR spectroscopy, and angiography were performed in two men (ages 21 and 48, respectively) with intraventricular meningioma. In both cases, CT and MR imaging showed large tumors located in the trigone of the right lateral ventricle that enhanced intensely after contrast administration. MR spectroscopy was helpful in supporting a preoperative diagnosis of meningioma in both cases.
متن کاملAngiomatous Meningioma: CT and MR Imaging Features
giomas on computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are easily identified and hence, easy to diagnose (1). However, certain meningioma subtypes have unusual imaging findings, making it difficult to diagnose them as well as determining the appropriate treatment protocol. This is particularly true for rare meningioma subtypes, which include the angiomatous meningioma, which sh...
متن کاملMicrocystic Meningioma - Unusual Variant of Meningiomas
Meningiomas are common benign tumors accounting for 13% to 18% of intracranial neoplasms. They are generally known to be solid tumors and their classical appearance on the computed tomography(CT) scan and magnetic resonance(MR) image usually lead to a correct diagnosis. Meningiomas have been subdivided into a variety of types, including meningotheliomatous, fibrous, transitional, psammomatous, ...
