Only a very small percentage of the combinations match the oxygen isotopic composition, the assumed bulk FeO concentration, and the assumed Fe/Al weight ratio for the Earth. Since chondrites are enriched in silicon relative to estimates of the bulk Earth, none of the combinations fall near the terrestrial magmatic fractionation trend line in Mg/Si-Al/Si space. More combinations match the oxygen isotopic composition and the assumed bulk FeO concentration for Mars. These combinations fall near the trend for shergottite meteorites in Mg/Si-Al/Si space. One explanation for the difficulty in forming Earth out of known chondrites is that the Earth may be composed predominately of material that did not survive to the present day as meteorites. Another explanation could be that significant amounts of silicon are sequestered in the core and/or lower mantle of the Earth. To determine the possible building blocks of the Earth and Mars, 225,792,840 possible combinations of the bulk oxygen isotopic and chemical compositions of 13 chondritic groups at 5% mass increments were examined. A long-standing question in the planetary sciences asks what the Earth is made of. For historical reasons, volatile-depleted primitive materials similar to current chondritic meteorites were long considered to provide the `building blocks' of the terrestrial planets. But material from the Earth, Mars, comets and various meteorites have Mg/Si and Al/Si ratios, oxygen-isotope ratios, osmium-isoto...
متن کاملAccuracy Assessment of Gully Erosion Susceptibility Map Using SVM and MARS Methods in Shazand Watershed
Gully erosion found to be typical erosion form in semiarid and arid landscape. Because of the importance of this phenomenon, various studies have been conducted around the world to assess gully erosion and its effects. The purpose of this research was accuracy assessment of gully erosion susceptibility maps using SVM and MARS models in the Shazand watershed. Acquiring information about the gull...
متن کاملEvaluation of coalbed methane potential in Parvadeh IV coal deposit in central Iran using a combination of MARS modeling and Kriging
Coalbed methane (CBM) plays an important role in coal mining safety and natural gas production. In this work, The CBM potential of B2 seam in Parvadeh IV coal deposit, in central Iran, was evaluated using a combination of local regression and geostatistical methods. As there were 30 sparse methane sampling points in the Parvadeh IV coal deposit, no valid variogram was achieved for the methane c...

Designing a Volunteer Geographic Information-based service for rapid earth quake damages estimation Introduction The advent of Web 2.0 enables the users to interact and prepare free unlimited real time data. This advantage leads us to exploit Volunteer Geographic Information (VGI) for real time crisis management. Traditional estimation methods for earthquake damages are expensive and tim...
متن کاملSynthesis of Functionalized Aryl-vinyl Ethers as Building Blocks and Auxiliaries in Organic Synthesis
5- hydroxyisoquinoline undergoes a smooth reaction with alkyl propiolates in the presence of triphenylphosphine (15 mol%) to produce the corresponding (E)-alkyl 3-(isoquinolin-5-yloxy) acrylate in good yields. When the reaction was performed by 2-methyl 4-hydroxyquinoline and 3-nitro 4-hydroxypyridine, similar aryl vinyl ethers were obtained.
