Although these and other issues are left unresolved by Chong’s investigation, the article can serve as a springboard for important studies. Future studies could investigate the effect of newer treatment protocols for the imaging of patients with AIDS-associated myelopathy and the precise distribution of signal abnormalities in the cord in both the early and late stages of this complex disease.
