چکیده
In this study, novel dual-energy detection modes for digital mammography, consisting of a combination of gas detector media with semiconductor detectors, are presented and discussed. The purpose of this study is to measure experimentally the figure of merit (FOM) of this multimedia detector for dual-energy imaging. The experimental results indicate that the multimedia detector exhibits a high FOM. At present time, potential applications of the multimedia detector technology in several industrial areas, such as medical imaging, aerospace imaging, aviation security and surveillance, are being explored.

Detection and Classification of Breast Cancer in Mammography Images Using Pattern Recognition Methods
Introduction: In this paper, a method is presented to classify the breast cancer masses according to new geometric features. Methods: After obtaining digital breast mammogram images from the digital database for screening mammography (DDSM), image preprocessing was performed. Then, by using image processing methods, an algorithm was developed for automatic extracting of masses from other norma...

متن کاملA review of neural network detection methods for breast cancer: review article
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women and the earlier it is diagnosed, the easier it is to treat. The most common way to diagnose breast cancer is mammography. Mammography is a simple chest x-ray and a tool for early detection of non-palpable breast cancers and tumors. However, due to some limitations of this method such as low sensitivity especially in dense breasts, other method...
متن کاملBreast dose in conventional and digital mamography
Introduction: The amount of doses received in mammography is one of the biggest concerns in the world. According to some statistics, every 12 minutes a woman dies due to breast cancer. Mammography concerned to detect breast cancer at an early stage of the disease as well as for screening, however due to the risk of exposure, the increasingly and widespread use of mammography fo...
