چکیده
Abstrnct In this paper, we design a novel fuzzy controller to dynamically adjust the packet length to against the interference from microwave oven over the IEEE 802.11 FHSS (Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum) wireless LAN card. The idea of adjusting the packet length under the noise environment is referring from the measurement results about the effects of microwave ovens over the wireless LAN card in 111. Simulation results show that the designed fuzzy controller can effectively improve the transmission performance in terms of network throughput.

Wireless LANs Title: Effects of Microwave Interference On IEEE 802.11 WLAN Reliability
The influence of microwave oven interference on IEEE802.11 Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) performance is a significant factor because they share common spectrum in the 2.400 2.4835 GHz Industry, Science, and Medicine (ISM) band. FCC regulations permit radiated power of up to 1 watt in this band provided spread spectrum techniques are employed. Spread spectrum methods facilitate multiple use...

In this paper, the coverage region of communication quality degradation would be indicated. The index of PER (UDP packet frame error rate) is employed to evaluate the communication quality and verify the prediction results. Moreover, by measuring the interference in terms of PER, the dependence of the microwave oven interference on the whole communication channels in the IEEE 802.11 DSSS wire...

متن کاملEMC’04/Sendai Suppression of Microwave Oven Interference in WLAN Systems Using Adaptive Filters
Since WLAN (Wireless LAN: IEEE802. 11b) systems shares the 2.4 GHz frequency band with microwave ovens, interference caused by the radiated noise from the ovens is a serious problem. This paper proposes the use of adaptive filters to suppress the microwave oven interference in DS-SS (Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum) WLAN links. This method is based on the fact that an oven noise can be regarded...
