چکیده

The longitudinal re-acceleration phenomenon of the fragmentation residues, as found recently in projectile fragmentation of uranium [1,2], has been interpreted [3] as the postulated spectator response to the participants’ blast [4]. According to transport calculations, the longitudinal momenta of the surviving residues yield a direct access to the momentum-dependent properties of the nuclear mean field (MF), little affected by the uncertainties in nuclear incompressibility [4]. Therefore, we propose an experiment in which the more detailed investigation of the re-acceleration phenomenon will be performed. We plan to explore the reacceleration dependence on the initial beam energy as well as the importance of the isospin effects on the evolution and strength of the participants blast, thus directly addressing the characteristics of the momentum dependent MF. We propose to measure longitudinal momenta of the final residues in the systems of Au+Au at 250, 500, 750 and 1000 A MeV, Sn+Sn and Sn+Sn at 1000 A MeV at the Fragment Separator (FRS), GSI Darmstadt.

Improved prediction of blast-induced vibrations in limestone mines using Genetic Algorithm

Like most limestone mines, which produce the raw materials required for cement companies, the transportation cost of the raw materials used in the Shahrood Cement Company is high. It has been tried to build the crushing and grinding plant close to the mine as much as possible. On the other hand, blasting has harmful effects, and the impacts of blast-induced damages on the sensitive machinery, e...

Systematic investigation of the spectator response to the participant blast in the reactions Au+Al, Au at 0.5 A GeV and Au+Au at 1.0 A GeV

Recent theoretical work [1] suggested the longitudinal velocities of the fragmentation residues produced in relativistic heavy-ion collisions as an observable sensitive to the momentum dependent (MD) properties of the nuclear mean field (MF). Under certain conditions, the spectator remnant can acquire on average even a positive momentum during the collision This phenomenon has been named specta...

An investigation on the performance of dose calibrators in nuclear medicine centers in Iran

Background: To investigate the status of the nuclear medicine (NM) centers in Iran for the performance of dose calibrators, 18 out of 54 centers providing NM services in Iran were randomly selected and inspected in 1997. In the first phase of the study the selected centers were inspected for performing of quality control (QC) tests of dose calibrators. The linearity of the activity res...

The interplay between spectator and participant matter in heavy-ion collisions is investigated in the context of a microscopic transport model. Transport simulations show that flow patterns for the participant matter are strongly influenced by the presence of the nearby spectator matter. However, the influence is mutual. During the explosion of the participant zone, the spectator matter acquire...
