Magnetic Excitations of the Doped-Hole State in Diamagnetic La2Cu0.5Li0.5O4.

چکیده
Substitution of Li for Cu in La2Cu12xLixO4 donates holes; at x 0.5 the Li ions form an ordered superlattice which isolates individual CuO4 plaquettes from one another, and the number of doped holes is sufficient that each plaquette is occupied. Above 170 K, an activated temperature dependence of the Cu nuclear spin relaxation rate reveals a magnetic excitation of the doped-hole state with an energy of ,130 meV. Below 170 K relaxation is primarily due to fluctuations of the electric field gradient; the temperature dependence of this rate is anomalously slow: T 1 ~ p T . [S0031-9007(96)01098-8]

High-energy Spin and Charge Excitations in Electron-doped Copper Oxide
The evolution of electronic (spin and charge) excitations upon carrier doping is an extremely important issue in superconducting layered cuprates and the knowledge of its asymmetry between electron-and hole-dopings is still fragmentary. Here we combine x-ray and neutron inelastic scattering measurements to track the doping dependence of both spin and charge excitations in electron-doped materia...

متن کاملEvolution of magnetic and superconducting fluctuations with doping of high-Tc superconductors
Electronic Raman scattering from high- and low-energy excitations was studied as a function of temperature, extent of hole doping, and energy of the incident photons in Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+/-delta superconductors. For underdoped superconductors, short-range antiferromagnetic (AF) correlations were found to persist with hole doping, and doped single holes were found to be incoherent in the AF environm...
متن کاملDoping dependence of spin excitations and its correlations with high-temperature superconductivity in iron pnictides
High-temperature superconductivity in iron pnictides occurs when electrons and holes are doped into their antiferromagnetic parent compounds. Since spin excitations may be responsible for electron pairing and superconductivity, it is important to determine their electron/hole-doping evolution and connection with superconductivity. Here we use inelastic neutron scattering to show that while elec...
متن کاملThe quadratic Zeeman effect used for state-radius determination in neutral donors and donor bound excitons in Si:P
We have measured the near-infrared photoluminescence spectrum of phosphorus doped silicon (Si: P) and extracted the donor-bound exciton (DX) energy at magnetic fields up to 28 T. At high field the Zeeman effect is strongly nonlinear because of the diamagnetic shift, also known as the quadratic Zeeman effect (QZE). The magnitude of the QZE is determined by the spatial extent of the wave-function...
