Inhomogeneous phase separation and domain wall dynamics in the orthorhombically distorted La 0.87 MnO x Abstract. We observe the interesting magnetization and resistivity results in the orthorhombically distorted self doped manganite, La 0.87 MnO x. A significant irreversibility between zero-field-cooled and field-cooled resistivities as well as magnetization data is clearly observed up to a temperature which is well above the both paramagnetic to ferromagnetic (T c) and metal to insulator transition (T MI) temperatures. In the ferromagnetically ordered and metallic states the magnetotransport results suggest the influence of domain wall dynamics. Interesting scenario of memory effects through the domain wall dynamics is strikingly observed in the relaxation of resistivity in a limited temperature region. The characteristic features of magnetotransport behaviour are suggested duo to the coexistence of structurally driven inhomogeneous phase separation and domain wall dynamics. Dynamics of Love-Type Waves in Orthotropic Layer Under the Influence of Heterogeneity and Corrugation
The present problem deals with the propagation of Love-type surface waves in a bedded structure comprises of an inhomogeneous orthotropic layer and an elastic half-space. The upper boundary and the interface between two media are considered to be corrugated. An analytical method (separation of variables) is adapted to solve the second order PDEs, which governs the equations of motion. Equations...

متن کاملInfluences of Heterogeneities and Initial Stresses on the Propagation of Love-Type Waves in a Transversely Isotropic Layer Over an Inhomogeneous Half-Space
In the present paper, we are contemplating the influences of heterogeneities and pre-stresses on the propagation of Love-type waves in an initially stressed heterogeneous transversely isotropic layer of finite thickness lying over an inhomogeneous half space. The material constants and pre-stress have been taken as space dependent and arbitrary functions of depth in the respective media. To sim...
متن کاملReal-Time Dynamics and Phase Separation in a Holographic First-Order Phase Transition.
We study the fully nonlinear time evolution of a holographic system possessing a first order phase transition. The initial state is chosen in the spinodal region of the phase diagram, and it includes an inhomogeneous perturbation in one of the field theory directions. The final state of the time evolution shows a clear phase separation in the form of domain formation. The results indicate the e...
