چکیده
Sinus of Valsalva aneurysm (SVA) is a rare cardiac anomaly and comprises less than 1% of congenital cardiac defects. It can be congenital or acquired. Echocardiography and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging are noninvasive imaging procedures primarily used for diagnosis. A 47-year-old patient with a history of asthma was admitted through the emergency department which dyspnoea that had started three weeks previously. Physical examination revealed a regular pulse of 106 beats/min. The blood pressure was 110/60 mmHg. He had a grade 5

Bicuspid Aortic Valve: An Unusual Cause of Aneurysm of Left Coronary Sinus of Valsalva
Bicuspid aortic valve is traditionally considered an innocuous congenital anomaly. Due to a better and widespread availability of non-invasive imaging techniques, it has come to the fore that 30% of these cases develop complications, viz., valve abnormality (aortic regurgitation and stenosis), and aneurysm of aortic root and ascending aorta. Sinus of Valsalva aneurysm is an uncommon complicatio...

Combination of ruptured sinus of Valsalva aneurysm (SVA), and a coexisting asymptomatic adult aortic isthmic coarctation is extremely rare. The timing and sequence of surgical and/or interventional repair of these two pathologies are controversial. We present a case of a 37-year-old male who was admitted to our department because of severe acute congestive heart failure and signs of ruptured an...
متن کاملVery late recurrence of sinus of Valsalva aneurysm rupture after patch repair
BACKGROUND Sinus of Valsalva aneurysm (SVA) is an uncommon cardiac defect accounting for only 1% of congenital cardiac anomalies and the most common complication is ruptured into the atrium or ventricle. Very late recurrence of ruptured SVA after patch repair is extremely rare. CASE PRESENTATION We present a case of 57-year-old man had received repair for ruptured Sinus of Valsalva aneurysm a...
متن کاملA tetrad of bicuspid aortic valve association: A single-stage repair
We report a 27 years old male who presented with a combination of both congenital and acquired cardiac defects. This syndrome complex includes congenital bicuspid aortic valve, Seller's grade II aortic regurgitation, juxta- subclavian coarctation, stenosis of ostium of left subclavian artery and ruptured sinus of Valsalva aneurysm without any evidence of infective endocarditis. This type of con...
متن کاملSinus of Valsalva aneurysm.
Bicuspid aortic valve is one of the most common congenital cardiac anomalies and it may be accompanied by other cardiovascular anomalies. Sinus of Valsalva aneurysm is a rare anomaly in adult population, but it coexists with bicuspid aortic valve quite often. This report describes a 57 years-old patient who had a bicuspid aortic valve accompanied by unruptured Valsalva sinus aneurysm with signi...
