Intravenous protein-free pyrogen; a powerful fibrinolytic agent in man.

چکیده
A diimmistration of a variety of noonfibrinolytic, noanenizymImatic substances imdluces fibrinmolvsis in moan. The most potent materials of this type known at present are purified protein-fre( pyrogenms. Their action after intravenous injection on the huiman fibrinolytic system, on some of its componemIts, and on the clotting system of 67 individuals has been studied. The possible therapeutic immplications are discussed of thninarked fibrinolysis.

متن کاملFebrile response to bacterial pyrogens in leukemia.
T HE INTRAVENOUS INJECTION of a bacterial pyrogen is followed successively by its localization in the buffy coat, transient neutropenia and fever.’ These changes, and the discovery by Bennett and Beeson2 of a pyrogen in granubocytes, Suggest that fever could result from interaction between bacteriab pyrogens and granubocytes. Yet the failure to elicit a diminished febrile reaction in rabbits ma...

F IBRINOLYSIS induced in human beings for the treatment of thromboembolic disorders may remove the result of intravascular clotting, but not its underlying cause. For the prevention of the reformation of intravascular clots, a combined treatment of fibrinobysis-inducing agents with an anticoagulant is indicated. متن کاملEffects of intravenous administration of fibrinolysin (plasmin) in man.
The potentiality of dissolving clots has aroused great interest in fibrinolysin (plasmin) as a therapeutic agent in thromboembolism. In this paper the effects of intravenous administration of purified fibrinolysin in man are reported, with special emphasis upon systemic toxicity and alterations in clotting factors and fibrinolytic activity. This information is necessary for the evaluation of th...
