چکیده

Low Temperature Cofired Ceramics were developed around three decades ago. The technology is used in the fabrication of many various electronic components and devices. The aim of this paper is to present the possibility of applying Design of Experiment (DoE) methodology in the investigations of how cofiring process conditions influence several properties of fired substrates. The achieved results are compared with literature data to verify if DoE enables us to predict final LTCC properties without expensive analyses.

Investigation of Effective Parameters on Densification of ZrB2-SiC Based Composites Using Taguchi Method

Abstract The main goal of this study is optimization of densification of ZrB2-SiC composites reinforced with chopped Cf prepared by SPS. Taguchi method is employed as statistical design of experiment (DOE) to optimize densification parameters including SiC, Cf, MoSi2, HfB2 and ZrC content, milling time of Cf and SPS parameters such as temperature, time and pressure. Each of these factors ...

Investigation of low-temperature cofired ceramics packages for high-temperature SAW sensors

Surface acoustic wave (SAW) temperature sensor devices have been developed for operating temperatures up to and above 1000 C. A challenging task to make these devices available on the market is to develop an appropriate housing concept. A concept based on low-temperature cofired ceramics (LTCC) has been investigated and tested under elevated temperatures up to 600 C. The devices showed promisin...

Fabrication of membranes and microchannels in low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) substrate using novel water-based sacrificial carbon pastes

In this work, 3D structuration of LTCC (Low-Temperature Co-fired Ceramic) for microfluidics was studied, using two novel sacrificial carbon paste compositions. These pastes are based on graphite with a water-soluble vehicle consisting of polyvinylpyrrolidone binder (PVP) dissolved in propylene glycol (PG), which is not aggressive to green LTCC material. Both examined pastes differ slightly in b...

Prototyping a High Frequency Inductive Magnetic Sensor Using the Non- Conventional, Low Temperature Co-Fired Ceramic Technology for Use in ITER

The ITER high-frequency (HF) magnetic sensor is currently intended to be a conventional, Mirnovtype, pick-up coil, designed to provide measurements of magnetic instabilities with magnitude as low as |δB|~10G at the position of the sensors, and up to frequencies of at least 300kHz. Previous prototyping of this sensor has indicated that a number of problems exist with this conventional design, wh...
