چکیده

This paper provides a comparative institutional analysis between ENSO forecasting systems in the Pacific and southern Africa with a focus on how scientific information is connected to the decision making process. With billions of dollars in infrastructure and private property, and human health and well-being at risk during ENSO events, forecasting systems have begun to be embraced by managers and firms at multiple levels. In contrast to traditional models of "getting the science right and giving the information to decision makers", the study suggests that such systems instead need to consciously support the co-production of knowledge. A critical component of such co-production seems to be managing the boundaries between science and policy, across disciplines, across scale, and across knowledges to create information that is salient, credible, and legitimate to multiple audiences. This research suggests institutional mechanisms that appear to be useful in managing such boundaries, including: mechanisms for structuring convening, translation, collaboration and mediation functions.

Presenting a New Model for Bank’s Supply Chain Performance Evaluating with DEA Solution Approach

Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is a method for measuring the efficiency of peer decision making units (DMUs) with multiple inputs and outputs. The traditional DEA treats decision making units under evaluation as black boxes and calculates their efficiencies with first inputs and last outputs. This carries the notion of missing some intermediate measures in the process of changing the inputs to...

Evaluation of recommender systems: A multi-criteria decision making approach

The evaluation and selection of recommender systems is a difficult decision making process. This difficulty is partially due to the large diversity of published evaluation criteria in addition to lack of standardized methods of evaluation. As such, a systematic methodology is needed that explicitly considers multiple, possibly conflicting metrics and assists decision makers to evaluate and find...

An extended intuitionistic fuzzy modified group complex proportional assessment approach

Complex proportional assessment (COPRAS) methodology is one of the well-known multiple criteria group decision-making (MCGDM) frameworks that can focus on proportional and direct dependences of the significance and utility degree of candidates under the presence of mutually conflicting criteria in real-worldcases. This studyelaboratesa newintuitionistic fuzzy modified group complex proportional...
