A Color Constancy Scheme Based on Finite-Dimensional Linear Model and Neural Network

چکیده

This paper proposes a new scheme for color constancy. A backpropagation (BP) neural network is used to model the nonlinear functional relationship between the white point chromaticity and coefficients of illuminant functions. The trained BP network can then be used to estimate the spectral power distribution of surrounding illuminant. Substituting this illuminant estimate into the finite-dimensional linear model of surface reflectance, the colors of the image can be corrected and recovered with the standard illuminant (D65) for color constancy. For performance evaluation, some experiments are performed in this paper based on images of captured from a still digital camera in the Color-viewing box. The experimental results show that the new color constancy scheme has a good performance.
