چکیده

Human-centric naming will largely facilitate access and deployment of network services in a future Internet. Information-centric networking (ICN) introduces such vision of a name-oriented, secure, globally available publish-subscribe infrastructure. Current approaches concentrate on unicast-like pull mechanisms and thereby fall short of naming and automatically updating content at groups of receivers. In this paper, we adopt the information-centric paradigm, but argue that an inclusion of multicast will grant additional benefits to the network layer. Our contribution bridges the gap between requesting content by name and applying requests to a scalable distribution infrastructure in a many-to-many communication model. We introduce a group-oriented naming concept that integrates the various available group schemes, simplifies rendezvous processes, and introduces new use cases. We present an open-source prototype of this name-oriented multicast access implemented in the H"Mcast middleware. 2013 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Quasi Random Deployment Strategy for Reliable Communication Backbones in Wireless Sensor Networks

Topology construction and topology maintenance are significant sub-problems of topology control. Spanning tree based algorithms for topology control are basically transmission range based type construction algorithms. The construction of an effective backbone, however, is indirectly related to the placement of nodes. Also, the dependence of network reliability on the communication path undertak...

On Naming , Addressing , and Programming in Multicast ∗

I. INTRODUCTION Emerging popular applications like IPTV and MMORGs urge the need for multicast. However, there is no global multicast deployment available today. At the same time many traditional and mobile systems would largely benefit from ease and efficiency of a network group service. A uniformly available multicast service will offer the chance to replace proprietary workarounds deployed i...

Spontaneous Virtual Networks: On the Road Towards the Internet's Next Generation

Novel Internet applications demand global availability of complex services that can adapt dynamically to application requirements. At the same time, pervasive Inter-net usage and heterogeneous access technologies impose new challenges for service deployment. We present Spontaneous Virtual Networks (SpoVNet), a methodology that enables easy development of new services with transparent support fo...

Wireless sensor network design through genetic algorithm

In this paper, we study WSN design, as a multi-objective optimization problem using GA technique. We study the effects of GA parameters including population size, selection and crossover method and mutation probability on the design. Choosing suitable parameters is a trade-off between different network criteria and characteristics. Type of deployment, effect of network size, radio communication...

Delay-dependent stability for transparent bilateral teleoperation system: an LMI approach

There are two significant goals in teleoperation systems: Stability and performance. This paper introduces an LMI-based robust control method for bilateral transparent teleoperation systems in presence of model mismatch. The uncertainties in time delay in communication channel, task environment and model parameters of master-slave systems is called model mismatch. The time delay in communicatio...
