The biosynthesis of sucrose.

چکیده
The enzyme, which was named sucrose phosphorylase, has not been found in plant tissues (4), and thus the mechanism of sucrose synthesis remains obscure. Evidence obtained from tracer experiments led Buchanan et al. (5, 6) to assume that in plants sucrose phosphate is formed from UDPG’ and fructose-l-phosphate. This hypothesis stimulated work which led to the discovery of an enzyme which catalyzes sucrose synthesis according to the following reaction:

Water deficient stress is one of the major limiting factors of wheat production in arid and semiarid areas of the world such as Iran. Under water deficient stress photosynthesis is limited and remobilization of assimilates stored in stems is more important to grain filling. In order to molecular analysis of fructan remobilization in wheat stem (penultimate) under terminal water deficit stress, ...
متن کاملEnzymatic Synthesis of Sucrose-6-acetate by a Novel Immobilized Fructosyltransferase From Aspergillus sp. GX-0010
Background: Sucralose is an ideal food sweetener and sucrose-6-acetate (s-6-a) is a key intermediate for synthesis of sucralose. Synthesis of s-6-a was studied by free fructosyltransferase (FTase) from Aspergillus oryzae. Because of the limitations of free enzyme in stability and reusability, a FTase obtained from the new isolated Aspergillus sp. GX-0010 was immobilized and inv...
متن کاملSolid-state NMR reveals differential carbohydrate utilization in diapausing Culex pipiens
Culex pipiens is the mosquito that vectors West Nile Virus and other human-pathogenic flavivruses in North America. In response to shortened day length and lower temperatures, female Cx. pipiense prepares for the diapause by actively feeding on carbohydrates to increase the biosynthesis of glycogen and lipid to store energy for overwintering. The effect of feeding different carbohydrates on gly...

Under laboratory conditions, penicillin biosynthesis was improved by feeding sucrose and sodium phenylacetate to the fermentation flasks in the form of coated tablets.
متن کاملThe Arabidopsis Transcription Factor ANAC032 Represses Anthocyanin Biosynthesis in Response to High Sucrose and Oxidative and Abiotic Stresses
Production of anthocyanins is one of the adaptive responses employed by plants during stress conditions. During stress, anthocyanin biosynthesis is mainly regulated at the transcriptional level via a complex interplay between activators and repressors of anthocyanin biosynthesis genes. In this study, we investigated the role of a NAC transcription factor, ANAC032, in the regulation of anthocyan...
متن کاملSucrose Promotes Strawberry Fruit Ripening by Stimulation of Abscisic Acid Biosynthesis
The interaction of sugar with ABA plays an important role in many aspects of plant growth and development. Although glucose is reported to act as a signal molecular to promote abscisic acid (ABA) biosynthesis, whether sucrose can also serve as a signal molecule involved in ABA biosynthesis is yet unclear. Here, we showed that soluble sugars, especially sucrose, could accelerate strawberry fruit...
