Segregating Planners and Their Environments

چکیده
By implementing agents and environments using a domain-independent, extensible simulation substrate, described in this paper, agents will have clean interfaces to their environments. These makes it easier for agents to be plugged into other environments that have been similarly defined. If agents can interact with multiple environments, their behaviors and the associated experimental results will be more general and interesting.

Identification of factors that assure quality of residential environments, using environmental assessment indices: a comparative study of Two of Tehran’s neighborhoods (Zafaranieh &Khaniabad)
Living in satisfying urban environments is important for an individual’s well-being. In order to create such environments, planners, designers, and policy makers need to understand the structures that cause residents to feel satisfied with their environments. This paper focuses on the perceived quality of urban residential environments: dwellings and neighborhoods. First, literature review w...

Integrated Street Design in High-volume Junctions: the Case Study of London’s Oxford Circus
While traditional street design relied upon segregating vehicles and pedestrians in urban areas to ensure smooth traffic flow, urban planners and traffic engineers are gradually moving away from it. Instead, under the more modern concept of integrated street design, more space and freedom of action is provided to pedestrians, the needs of whom were previously omitted. An example space to have u...
متن کاملA Storytelling Planning Process to Transform Environmental Values into Sustainable Cities and Sustainable Behaviours
The concept of sustainability inspired most urban development plans after Rio 1992, although many such plans have not been too successful. An important reason for this is the disjuncture of science from culture and traditional knowledge and planners’ inability to conceptualize the environmental values of societies. This research aims to explore storytelling’s ability to aid in identifying of env...
متن کاملTraversing Environments Using Possibility Graphs with Multiple Action Types
Locomotion for legged robots poses considerable challenges when confronted by obstacles and adverse environments. Footstep planners are typically only designed for one mode of locomotion, but traversing unfavorable environments may require several forms of locomotion to be sequenced together, such as walking, crawling, and jumping. Multi-modal motion planners can be used to address some of thes...
