A Discussion on Intracranial Injury in the New-Born and Its Relationship to Breech Delivery

چکیده
It has been my fortune while resident at the Simpson Memorial Hospital and during the three months following my term of office there, to have had an opportunity to investigate a few cases of intracranial injury in the newborn. Six of these cases were primary breech presentations, one being complicated by a contracted pelvis. Despite the fact that this Society has on many previous occasions discussed the problem of intracranial trauma, I hope that a demonstration of the actual specimens may be of some interest to you. With your permission I shall first of all refer very briefly to some of the anatomical features of the foetal skull, and the mechanism by which tears of the tentorium and falx are caused.

متن کاملComparative Study of Frequency and Severity of Neonatal Jaundice without a Known Etiology in Two Groups of Term Neonate Born Via Cesarean Section and Vaginal Delivery
Introduction: Neonatal jaundice has a significant prevalence, and in severe cases, causes permanent neurological Sequela. Many studies have carried out on neonatal jaundice and its predisposing and exacerbating factors. On the other hand, delivery method (cesarean vs vaginal) has been suggested as a predisposing factor for many of neonatal complications in many studies. The aim of this study i...
