Talar and Calcaneal Y-Osteotomy with Distraction Osteogenesis for the Correction of Rigid Equinus

چکیده
Types of equinus, surgical management for equinus involving the Ytalocalcaneal osteotomy supplementing an external fixation device is presented. A case report is introduced involving surgical correction of a 53 year-old male who had a severe equinus flat top talus with mild varus secondary to clubfoot surgery. Treatment included surgical correction utilizing Steindler stripping, Achilles tendon lengthening, and a rather rare Yosteotomy of the calcaneus and talus with the use of a multiplaner external fixator in an unconstrained system to correct the equinus and varus deformity. Slow distraction was performed in order to decrease the risks of having neurovascular injury, soft tissue injury, and shortening of the foot. After months of follow-up, there was good healing of the osteotomy sites and the patient had a plantigrade foot.

Evans calcaneal lengthening osteotomy is a powerful surgical technique utilized in the correction of a flatfoot deformity. The known biomechanical complications associated with performing the calcaneal osteotomy alone involve increased lateral column pressures. The present study involves a patient who developed a sub fifth metatarsal ulceration with weightbearing after an Evans calcaneal osteot...

A structural bone graft is often required when performing procedures associated with flexible planovalgus deformity correction. These procedures are commonly done in conjunction with a medializing calcaneal osteotomy. Associated procedures include lengthening calcaneal osteotomy through the anterior calcaneus, distraction calcaneocuboid arthrodesis, and plantarflexion osteotomies of the medial ...

A new technique of osteotomy distraction osteogenesis (ODO) and sutural distraction osteogenesis (SDO) by the use of bone-borne traction hooks is presented. The technique of osteotomy plus distraction osteogenesis is suitable for adult patients. The technique of sutural distraction osteogenesis is suitable for young patients, ages 6 through 12 years. The distraction system consists of a face-bo...
