Integrating Psychological Behaviors in the Rational Process of Conversational Assistant Agents

چکیده
In this paper we describe a framework dedicated to studies and experimentations upon the nature of the relationships between the rational reasoning process of an artificial agent and its psychological counterpart, namely its behavioral reasoning process. This study is focused on the domain of Conversational Assistant Agents, which are software tools providing various kinds of assistance to people of the general public interacting with computer-based applications or services. In this context, we show on some examples how the agents must exhibit both rational reasoning about the system functioning and a human-like believable dialogical interaction with the users.

Expression of Behaviors in Assistant Agents as Influences on Rational Execution of Plans
Assistant Agents help ordinary people about computer tasks, in many ways, thanks to their rational reasoning capabilities about the current model of the world. However they face strong acceptability issues because of the lack of naturalness in their interaction with users. A promising approach is to provide Assistant Agents with a personality model and allow them to achieve behavioral reasoning...
متن کاملUn cadre de modélisation des relations entre les réactions rationnelles et comportementales des agents assistants conversationnels
In order to improve the users’ acceptability of conversational assistant agents (CAA), the agents should be supplied with behavioral models, which in turn interact with their basic rational reasoning process. We present here a flexible modeling framework, dedicated to the study of the relationships between the rational and behavioral reactions of CAA. This framework is then used to support the ...
متن کاملA Software Engineering Approach Combining Rational and Conversational Agents for the Design of Assistance Applications
A Conversational Agent can be useful for providing assistance to naïve users on how to use a graphical interface. Such an assistant requires three features: understanding users’ requests, reasoning, and intuitive output. In this paper we introduce the DAFT-LEA architecture for enabling assistant agents to reply to questions asked by naive users about the structure and functioning of graphical i...
متن کاملA Parameter-Based Model for Generating Culturally Adaptive Nonverbal Behaviors in Embodied Conversational Agents
The goal of this paper is to integrate culture as a computational term in embodied conversational agents by employing an empirical data-driven approach as well as a theoretical model-driven approach. We propose a parameter-based model that predicts nonverbal expressions appropriate for specific cultures. First, we introduce the Hofstede theory to describe socio-cultural characteristics of each ...
متن کاملTowards a new model of speculative bubbles: nonparametric test with an application to the Tunisian Stock Index
Bubbles in asset prices have fascinated researchers in finance. Identify asset bubbles, by circumstances, on the stock market has been a growing number of research theoretical and empirical. On a theoretical level, it was assumed that the price dynamics reflect irrational behavior of economic agents and, therefore, should be excluded from a deal with the truly rational economic agents Burmeiste...
