Applications of inverse tempered stable subordinators

چکیده
The inverse tempered stable subordinator is a stochastic process that models power law waiting times between particle movements, with an exponential tempering that allows all moments to exist. This paper shows that the probability density function of an inverse tempered stable subordinator solves a tempered time-fractional diffusion equation, and its ‘‘folded’’ density solves a tempered time-fractional telegraph equation. Two explicit formulae for the density function are developed, and applied to compute explicit solutions to tempered fractional Cauchy problems, where a tempered fractional derivative replaces the first derivative in time. Several examples are given, including tempered fractional diffusion equations on bounded or unbounded domains, and the probability distribution of a tempered fractional Poisson process. It is shown that solutions to the tempered fractional diffusion equation have a cusp at the origin. © 2016 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Minimal q-entropy martingale measures for exponential time-changed Lévy processes
In this paper, we consider structure preserving measure transforms for time-changed Lévy processes. Within this class of transforms preserving the time-changed Lévy structure, we derive equivalent martingale measures minimizing relative q-entropy. Structure preservation is found to be an inherent property of minimal q-entropy martingale measures under continuous time changes, whereas it imposes...
متن کاملInverse Stable Subordinators.
The inverse stable subordinator provides a probability model for time-fractional differential equations, and leads to explicit solution formulae. This paper reviews properties of the inverse stable subordinator, and applications to a variety of problems in mathematics and physics. Several different governing equations for the inverse stable subordinator have been proposed in the literature. Thi...
متن کاملDiffusion and relaxation controlled by tempered -stable processes
We derive general properties of anomalous diffusion and nonexponential relaxation from the theory of tempered -stable processes. The tempering results in the existence of all moments of operational time. The subordination by the inverse tempered -stable process provides diffusion relaxation that occupies an intermediate place between subdiffusion Cole-Cole law and normal diffusion exponential l...
متن کاملA STABLE COUPLED NEWTON'S ITERATION FOR THE MATRIX INVERSE $P$-TH ROOT
The computation of the inverse roots of matrices arises in evaluating non-symmetriceigenvalue problems, solving nonlinear matrix equations, computing some matrixfunctions, control theory and several other areas of applications. It is possible toapproximate the matrix inverse pth roots by exploiting a specialized version of New-ton's method, but previous researchers have mentioned that some iter...
متن کاملOn Time-changed Gaussian Processes and Their Associated Fokker–planck– Kolmogorov Equations
This paper establishes Fokker–Planck–Kolmogorov type equations for time-changed Gaussian processes. Examples include those equations for a time-changed fractional Brownian motion with time-dependent Hurst parameter and for a time-changed Ornstein–Uhlenbeck process. The timechange process considered is the inverse of either a stable subordinator or a mixture of independent stable subordinators.
