A Silhouette Based Technique for the Reconstruction of Human Movement
نویسندگان
چکیده
A number of promising applications have renewed researchers’ interest in the analysis of human movements. In general, motion capture could play an important role in many areas that require storing, analyzing, or reproducing the motion of human beings. Current motion capture techniques are based on intrusive sensory systems, which might be disturbing or impossible to apply in several application areas. In this paper we present a novel non-intrusive technique able to reconstruct unconstrained motion. From multiple-viewpoint images taken with an ordinary camera a 3D reconstruction is computed with a technique known as volume intersection. Motion data are acquired by fitting a model of the performer to the reconstructed volume. Data about the reconstruction accuracy achievable with our technique in a virtual environment are also provided. c © 2001 Academic Press

Surface reconstruction of detect contours for medical image registration purpose
Although, most of the abnormal structures of human brain do not alter the shape of outer envelope of brain (surface), some abnormalities can deform the surface extensively. However, this may be a major problem in a surface-based registration technique, since two nearly identical surfaces are required for surface fitting process. A type of verification known as the circularity check for th...
متن کاملI-31: Reconstruction of Human Endometrium from Somatic Stem Cells
s:3115:"Background: During reproductive life, the human endometrium undergoes around 500 cycles of growth, breakdown and regeneration. This outstanding regenerative capability is the basis for cyclic endometrial preparation and its dysfunction is involved in pathological disorders. Endometrial regeneration is mediated by the existence of a specialized endometrial stem cell (SC) population recen...
متن کاملHomography Based Parallel Volume Intersection: Toward Real-Time Volume Reconstruction using Active Cameras
Silhouette volume intersection is one of the most popular ideas for reconstructing the 3D volume of an object from multi-viewpoint silhouette images. This paper presents a novel parallel volume intersection method based on planeto-plane homography for real-time 3D volume reconstruction using active cameras. This paper mainly focuses on the acceleration of back-projection from silhouette images ...
متن کاملEstimation of the Accuracy of a Shape-from-silhouette Markerless Motion Capture System
INTRODUCTION The most common methods for accurate capture of three-dimensional human motion require a laboratory environment and the attachment of markers or fixtures to the body segments. These laboratory conditions can cause adaptive changes to normal patterns of locomotion that introduce experimental artifact. For example, it has been shown that attaching straps to the thigh or shank alters ...
متن کاملStress Analysis of the Human Ligamentous Lumber Spine-From Computer-Assisted Tomography to Finite Element Analysis
Detailed investigation on biomechanics of a complex structure such as the human lumbar spine requires the use of advanced computer-based technique for both the geometrical reconstruction and the stress analysis. In the present study, the computer-assisted tomography (CAT) and finite element method (FEM) are merged to perform detailed three dimensional nonlinear analysis of the human ligamentous...
