چکیده
We study fragmentation of small atomistic clusters via molecular dynamics. We calculate the time scales related to fragment formation and emission. We also show that some degree of thermalization is achieved during the expansion process, which allows the determination of a local temperature. In this way we can calculate the break-up temperature as a function of excita-tion energy, i.e. the fragmentation caloric curve. Fragmentation appears as a rather constant temperature region of the caloric curve. Furthermore, we show that different definitions of temperature, related to different degrees of freedom, yield very similar values.

Different modern phase shift equivalent NN potentials are tested by evaluating the partial wave decomposition of the kinetic and potential energy of the deuteron. Significant differences are found, which are traced back to the matrix elements of the potentials at medium and large momenta. The influence of the localisation of the one-pion-exchange contribution to these potentials is analyzed in ...

Phase transitions of small isolated systems are signaled by the shape of the caloric equation of state e∗(T ), the relationship between the excitation energy per nucleon e∗ and temperature. In this work we compare the experimentally deduced e∗(T ) to the theoretical predictions. The experimentally accessible temperature was extracted from evaporation spectra from incomplete fusion reactions lea...

The S0-pairing gap in semi-infinite nuclear matter is evaluated microscopically using the effective pairing interaction recently found explicitly in the coordinate representation starting from the separable form of the Paris NN -potential. Instead of direct iterative solution of the gap equation, a new method proposed by V. A. Khodel, V. V. Khodel and J. W. Clark was used which simplifies the p...

The double-dipole strength distribution in 40 Ca is calculated microscopically within a model space of 1p1h-and 2p2h excitations. Anharmonic effects in the centroid energies of the 0 +-and 2 + components are found to be small, in agreement with experimental observation. Firm conclusions about the spreading width cannot be drawn, as yet, due to computational limitations in the number of 2p2h sta...
