Gastric neuroendocrine tumors

چکیده
Gastric Neuroendocrine Tumors (NET)s are classified on the basis of criteria that are common to all gastrointestinal and pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms. Most neuroendocrine neoplasms of the stomach are NETs –well differentiated, nonfunctioning enterochromaffin–like(ECL) cell carcinoids (ECL cell NETs)-arise predominantly in the corpus-fundus region [1]. Three distinct types are recognized :

Gastric Neuroendocrine Tumor: Review and Update
INTRODUCTION The frequency of gastric neuroendocrine tumors is increasing. Reasons are the popularization of endoscopy and its technical refinements. Despite this, they are still poorly understood and have complex management. AIM Update the knowledge on gastric neuroendocrine tumor and expose the future perspectives on the diagnosis and treatment of this disease. METHOD Literature review us...
متن کاملThe biological relevance of gastric neuroendocrine tumors.
Gastric neuroendocrine tumors were originally thought to have a low incidence (three percent). Since endoscopic diagnostic procedures have become clinical routine, they are now found more frequently (relative incidence up to 41 percent). In recent years, classifications have been developed that attempt to consider the biological relevance of these tumors. Four types of gastric neuroendocrine tu...
متن کاملGastric carcinoids and therapeutic options. Case report and review of the literature.
Neuroendocrine tumors (carcinoids) are tumors originating from neuroendocrine cells. The distinction between different types of gastric carcinoids is important for their management. We present the case of a 38-year old woman with type 1 gastric neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) associated with autoimmune atrophic gastritis. The management of these tumors has not been yet codified and different thera...

Background and study aims: Gastric neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) are rare lesions that develop from neuroendocrine cells. NETs are classified into 3 types based on the rate of mitosis and Ki-67 labeling index; the NET G1 type is synonymously referred to as carcinoid. Gastric NETs are usually discovered as submucosal tumors during upper gastrointestinal endoscopic examination. This study reports ...

Gastric Neuroendocrine Tumors (NETs), formerly known as Gastric Carcinoids (GCs), are neoplasms derived from enterochromaffin cells of the stomach. This heterogeneous group of tumors has been historically divided into three types, best distinguished by etiology. Type I gastric carcinoids, comprising 70-80% of gastric neuroendocrine tumors, are associated with autoimmune chronic atrophic gastrit...
