چکیده

Let G = (V,E) be an undirected graph and let π = {V1, V2, . . . , Vk} be a partition of the vertices V of G into k blocks Vi. From this partition one can construct the following digraph D(π) = (π,E(π)), the vertices of which correspond one-to-one with the k blocks Vi of π, and there is an arc from Vi to Vj if every vertex in Vj is adjacent to at least one vertex in Vi, that is, Vi dominates Vj . We call the digraph D(π) the domination digraph of π. A triad is one of the 16 digraphs on three vertices having no loops or multiple arcs. In this paper we study the algorithmic complexity of deciding if an arbitrary graph G has a given digraph as one of its domination digraphs, and in particular, deciding if a given triad is one of its domination digraphs. This generalizes results for the domatic number.

Twin minus domination in directed graphs

Let $D=(V,A)$ be a finite simple directed graph. A function$f:Vlongrightarrow {-1,0,1}$ is called a twin minus dominatingfunction (TMDF) if $f(N^-[v])ge 1$ and $f(N^+[v])ge 1$ for eachvertex $vin V$. The twin minus domination number of $D$ is$gamma_{-}^*(D)=min{w(f)mid f mbox{ is a TMDF of } D}$. Inthis paper, we initiate the study of twin minus domination numbersin digraphs and present some lo...

Efficient total domination in digraphs

We generalize the concept of efficient total domination from graphs to digraphs. An efficiently total dominating set X of a digraph D is a vertex subset such that every vertex of D has exactly one predecessor in X . We study graphs that permit an orientation having such a set and give complexity results and characterizations concerning this question. Furthermore, we study the computational comp...

The Roman domination and domatic numbers of a digraph

A Roman dominating function (RDF) on a digraph $D$ is a function $f: V(D)rightarrow {0,1,2}$ satisfying the condition that every vertex $v$ with $f(v)=0$ has an in-neighbor $u$ with $f(u)=2$. The weight of an RDF $f$ is the value $sum_{vin V(D)}f(v)$. The Roman domination number of a digraph $D$ is the minimum weight of an RDF on $D$. A set ${f_1,f_2,dots,f_d}$ of Roman dominating functions on ...

Independent domination in directed graphs

In this paper we initialize the study of independent domination in directed graphs. We show that an independent dominating set of an orientation of a graph is also an independent dominating set of the underlying graph, but that the converse is not true in general. We then prove existence and uniqueness theorems for several classes of digraphs including orientations of complete graphs, paths, tr...

TSP tour domination and Hamilton cycle decompositions of regular digraphs

In this paper, we solve a problem by Glover and Punnen (1997) from the context of domination analysis, where the performance of a heuristic algorithm is rated by the number of solutions that are not better than the solution found by the algorithm, rather than by the relative performance compared to the optimal value. In particular, we show that for the Asymmetric Traveling Salesman Problem (ATS...
