A dual-view endoscope with image shift

چکیده
We present a new endoscopic system that provides two different views simultaneously, one is a wide view (120 degrees) and the other is a zoomed view with image-shift mechanism. A Porro prism (II) is used to shift the zoomed image vertically and horizontally. With this endoscope, surgeons can observe throughout the surgical field without moving or rotating the endoscope itself. We have evaluated and confirmed the operationality and image quality of the endoscope by an in-vivo experiment on two pigs.
