Visualizing Wifi using the Wifi Camera
نویسندگان
چکیده
These images were created using a " Wifi Camera " custom designed by Somlai-Fischer, Sjölén and Haque (information available at ). It makes a use of a directional 2.4Ghz wifi antenna mounted on servos scanning an environment at varying resolutions, measuring signal strength of all present networks to generate an image of the wifi " view " of the space. A light sensor is mounted on the antenna in order to generate a visible-light image that confirms precise orientation. Fig.1. Amalgamated image of fifteen Wifi networks permeating a domestic living room.

WiFi connectivity is a necessity as most of the mobile devices nowadays are coming with built-in WiFi adaptors. WiFi enables your electronic gadgets to ‘talk’ to other gadgets and to control and being controlled by other gadgets via Internet without complicated cabling systems. You can use your mobile phone to talk, to download, to control your TV, home security camera or even to open the door ...
متن کاملMulti-sensor Mobile Robot Localization for Diverse Environments
Mobile robot localization with different sensors and algorithms is a widely studied problem, and there have been many approaches proposed, with considerable degrees of success. However, every sensor and algorithm has limitations, due to which we believe no single localization algorithm can be “perfect,” or universally applicable to all situations. Laser rangefinders are commonly used for locali...
متن کاملCoexistence between Wireless Fidelity and Wireless Microphone in TV Band
Wireless Fidelity (WiFi) and Wireless microphone are assumed to operate on adjacent channels in TV White Spaces(TVWS). The Scenario of WiFi potentially interfering with Wireless microphone is analyzed through Minimum Coupling Loss (MCL) and Spectrum Engineering Advanced Monte Carlo Analysis Tool (SEAMCAT) based on the Monte-Carlo simulation method. In the case of single WiFi interfering with Wi...
متن کاملDynamic Wifi-based Indoor Positioning in 3d Virtual World
A web-based system based on the 3DTown project was proposed using Google Earth plug-in that brings information from indoor positioning devices and real-time sensors into an integrated 3D indoor and outdoor virtual world to visualize the dynamics of urban life within the 3D context of a city. We addressed limitation of the 3DTown project with particular emphasis on video surveillance camera used...
متن کاملAdopting the FAB-MAP Algorithm for Indoor Localization with WiFi Fingerprints
Personal indoor localization is usually accomplished by fusing information from various sensors. A common choice is to use the WiFi adapter that provides information about Access Points that can be found in the vicinity. Unfortunately, state-of-the-art approaches to WiFi-based localization often employ very dense maps of the WiFi signal distribution, and require a time-consuming process of para...
