Asymptomatic Right Ventricular Perforation by a Temporary Transvenous Pacing Lead in an Infant.

چکیده
UNLABELLED A 3-month-old male infant received transvenous temporary pacemaker for acquired complete atrioventricular block. However, a right ventricle perforation by the pacing lead was found incidentally when the patient was receiving permanent pacemaker implantation nineteen days after temporary pacing. There was no pacemaker dysfunction, active bleeding or hemopericardium. The temporary pacing lead was extracted and the site of perforation was sutured. This case is unique because of the patient's unusual clinical presentation, and we suggested that echocardiography should be performed cautiously to check the pacing catheter tip daily, even if asymptomatic and/or normal function of pacemaker. KEY WORDS Complete atrioventricular block; Right ventricle perforation; Transvenous pacing lead.

Case Report Safe Right Bundle Branch Block Pattern During Permanent Right Ventricular Pacing
It is known that an electrocardiogram (ECG) after transvenous right ventricular (RV) pacing should yield left bundle branch block (LBBB) QRS patterns. When right bundle branch block (RBBB) pacing morphology appears in a patient with a permanent or temporary transvenous RV pacemaker, myocardial perforation or malposition of the pacing lead must be ruled out, even though the patient may be asympt...

متن کاملProlonged temporary cardiac pacing using subcutaneous tunnelled active-fixation permanent pacing leads.
Temporary transvenous cardiac pacing is occasionally required for prolonged periods, particularly in patients with severe infection and bradyarrhythmias who may need several weeks of antibiotic treatment before a permanent pacemaker can be safely implanted. Prolonged temporary transvenous pacing is frequently associated with complications such as local or systemic infection, lead displacement, ...

متن کاملAn Unconventional Route of Left Ventricular Pacing
We present a case of a rare complication of transvenous right ventricular pacing by temporary pacing wire causing iatrogenic interventricular septal perforation and left ventricular pacing in a 69-year-old man who was referred for recurrent syncope with sinus arrest.
