چکیده

In this paper we present a new approach for vertical motion feedback control of a hopping robot. The task of the feedback control is to stabilize the robotic system to a desired limit cycle under existing constraints on the controls. Unlike most previous methods, the approach presented here does not rely on the construction of the Poincar e map, which simpliies the subsequent analysis, but can be diicult or impossible to obtain analytically. The method can also be applied to more complicated, possibly nonlinear models of legged robots, as well as other variable structure systems.

Vertical and Longitudinal Control of a Hopping System by Controlled Limit Cycle

This paper deals with the vertical and longitudinal control of a mechanical system which interacts intermittently with the environment. The control approach is based on Controlled LimitCycle for performing the hopping motion, whereas a nonlinear energy based control law is used for longitudinal motion control. The study of this simple system permits a better comprehension of more complicated le...

The SAHR Setup - Controlling Hopping Speed and Height Using a Single Actuator

In this paper we present and experimentally validate a control method for regulating both the forward speed and the apex height of a one legged hopping robot, using only a single actuator. The control method is based on a dynamic model of the hopping robot and makes use of the dynamic coupling of the vertical and forward motions of the robot. The control is applied first to a simulated model of...

Dynamics, Stability Analysis and Control of a Mammal-Like Octopod Robot Driven by Different Central Pattern Generators

In this paper, we studied numerically both kinematic and dynamic models of a biologically inspired mammal-like octopod robot walking with a tetrapod gait. Three different nonlinear oscillators were used to drive the robot’s legs working as central pattern generators. In addition, also a new, relatively simple and efficient model was proposed and investigated. The introduced model of the gait ge...

Control of Lateral Bounding for a Pendulum Driven Hopping Robot

In this paper a novel hopping robot is introduced that uses inverse pendulum dynamics to induce several different gaits. Its mechanical structure consists of a rigid inverted T-shape mounted on four compliant feet. An upright “T” structure is connected to this by a rotary joint. The horizontal beam of the upright “T” is connected to the vertical beam by a second rotary joint. Using this two deg...

Robust Hybrid Motion Force Control Algorithm for Robot Manipulators

In this paper we present a robust hybrid motion/force controller for rigid robot manipulators. The main contribution of this paper is that the proposed hybrid control system is able to accomplish motion objectives in free directions and force objectives in constrained directions under parametric uncertainty both in robot dynamics and stiffness constraint constant. Also, the given scheme is prov...
