PReS-FINAL-2031: Hyaluronic acid is a marker of active arthritis, but not systemic inflammation in systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis
نویسندگان
چکیده
Introduction Systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is a subtype of childhood arthritis associated with significant systemic inflammation as well as arthritis. Hyaluronic acid as a constituent of connective tissue has previously been described as a marker for arthritis in JIA in an Asian population. Mutations in hyaluronic acid synthase 2 leading to accumulation of hyaluronic acid have been found to be associated with a periodic fever syndrome in Shar-Pei dogs. Hyaluronic acid has therefore been suspected as a risk factor for systemic inflammation in humans.

Introduction Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is a childhood onset autoimmune disorder characterized by inflammation of joints and other tissues. The basis for susceptibility to common autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, including JIA, is a complex interplay between multiple genetic and environmental risk factors. NFb appears to be a central player in several autoimmune diseases, according...

Introduction Systemic onset juvenile idiopathic arthritis (sJIA) is an acquired auto-inflammatory disease characterized by systemic inflammation and innate immune activation reflected in uncontrolled production of cytokines such as IL-1, IL-6 and IL-18. In sJIA, NK cell function is severely hampered despite high levels of IL-18. We recently found that defective phosphorylation of the IL-18 rece...

Background: Systemic-onset Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (SoJIA) is an autoinflammatory disease with complex genetic trait starts in children less than 16 years of age with fever and cutaneous rash. Despite, the main genetic factors that may play a role in SoJIA have not yet been identified. High level of interleukin-1beta in the blood of SoJIA patients has been reported. The production and sec...
