What Is the Real Identity of the Mysterious Potential P1, and What Is the Most Important Segment of the Fascicular Ventricular Tachycardia Circuit?

چکیده
In 1845, Johannes Evangelista Purkinje (Purkyně) discovered gelatinous fibers in the ventricular subendocardium. Later, they were called Purkinje fibers. However, he could not determine the function of that strange tissue and thought it was muscular. In 1906, Sunao Tawara finally described its function as the conducting system (Figure). In the last 3 decades, there has been rapid progress in the treatment of ventricular arrhythmias, and the Purkinje system has been found to be responsible for the mechanism of some ventricular tachyarrhythmias. These ventricular tachyarrhythmias can be called Purkinje-related arrhythmias and are manifested as monomorphic ventricular tachycardia (VT) and polymorphic VT, including ventricular fibrillation.

Macroscopic Visualization of the Heart Electrical Activity Via an Algebraic Computer Model
In this study, a mathematical model is developed based on algebraic equations which is capable of generating artificially normal events of electrocardiogram (ECG) signals such as P-wave, QRS complex, and T-wave. This model can also be implemented for the simulation of abnormal phenomena of electrocardiographic signals such as ST-segment episodes (i.e. depression, elevation, and sloped ascending...

متن کاملEmergency diagnosis and management of common pediatric tachyarrhythmia
Tachycardia is common in the pediatric age group. The most commonly seen arrhythmias in children are sinus tachycardia. However, supraventricular tachycardia is the most common tachyarrhythmia that necessitates treatment. Ventricular tachycardia is rare in healthy children but may be associated with sudden cardiac death. The important risk factors that predispose children for arrhythmias inclu...
متن کاملIdiopathic Fascicular Ventricular Tachycardia
Idiopathic fascicular ventricular tachycardia is an important cardiac arrhythmia with specific electrocardiographic features and therapeutic options. It is characterized by relatively narrow QRS complex and right bundle branch block pattern. The QRS axis depends on which fascicle is involved in the re-entry. Left axis deviation is noted with left posterior fascicular tachycardia and right axis ...
